The front desk arranged a taxi cab at my request. Upon exit, the doorman was very insistent on knowing my destination (really none of his business), and when he discovered the distance I had to go, he insisted I use another company. I refused and used the company scheduled, who was fine. This "pressure sale" by the doorman was a very uncomfortable situation upon checkout and not appreciated. Otherwise, the hotel and other staff is excellent.

Dear guest,
We are sorry for the taxi confusion. The Village of Rosemont restricts outside companies from operating within the village, and urges hotels to use a local company. We will ask our doormen to better explain these guidelines in the future. Thank you for making us aware of this.
We trust the remainder of your stay was comfortable.

Only stayed one night, Saturday, for a smooth jazz show. Seems to be a fine hotel, off the highway a bit (I-294/90), seems to be easy to miss the hotel driveway turn if you're not watching closely. Parking was $24, rate seemed reasonable, as others have stated, didn't realize parking was in and out, though had no reason to go out. About a block from the Fashion Mall of Chicago, which was a plus. Front desk said a shuttle bus from the casino about two miles away came regularly, but we did not use it.

Seems to be an ultra-modern, minimalist hotel starting in the lobby. Room was comfortable, though we didn't stay in it long, nice couch, very comfortable bed.

Maybe the nicest feature was the location of McCormick & Schmidt right across from the entrance, on hotel driveway, as well as an upscale steakhouse at the other end of the driveway entrance. Nice touches, hate to go driving out in an unfamiliar, somewhat congested, area for dinner. The hotel restaurant Fresco 21 was nice also, Happy Hour specials.

Nothing much else to say, no problems. One of the better jazz (smooth jazz) venues in the Chicago area, regular shoes on many weekends. Good stay, easy check-in and out.

Room Tip: Long hallways, try not to get too far from the elevators, if possible.

Dear Paukey,
Thank you for attending our jazz show. We are very fortunate to have great acoustics and sight lines in the Montrose Room, so no matter where your seat is, you are truly "up close". Our performers also love interacting with the crowd. We hope you keep checking our Montrose Room web site for the latest schedule, and call the hotel for possible room and show packages that we occasionally offer.
See you soon.

A decent stay at this airport hotel, quiet location away from the city to spend time shopping, dining & entertainment. Check in was quick, friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean/modern and the higher floors offer a city view on a clear day. The bathroom is ultra modern but very dimly lit. The sink area has an upper counter to hold some toiletries (pedestal sink) as well as a bench with a cut out above that can be used as shelving. The shower however is doorless and water spills out onto the floor, place a towel down, drown or slip and bust your fanny if you don't. The rainshower head is nice but I wished there was a hand held sprayer in the event you don't want to get wet hair under the rainfall. There are some birds on the wall to keep you company in case you get bored with the television or radio.

Internet service is complimentary for IHG reward members, I never could get this feature to work, parking is $24 a night with complimentary valet, or in/out self parking, had an issue with this that I'm trying to get resolved as of this writing. Room service provided by Fresco 21 was good, the angus burger, chicken salad club sandwich, and pizza all prepared well & delicious, so were the cocktails in the restaurant. It's an artsy hotel with a gallery & murals throughout. The business center is convenient but there is a premium to use the computers there, paid $24 for 15 minutes, A good value for the stay overall, would stay again.

Room Tip: Higher floors facing the city for a great view on a clear day!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We will look into the internet issue. It might have been something specific to your room, as we hear this very seldom. As you know, all IHG Rewards guests are entitled to free in-room internet, a change from the beginning of the year. We apologize that this didn't seem to be available to you.
We hope to welcome you again.

The hotel is more like a hilton than an icon. Service is poor. They are understaffed, and the room doesn't have the higher end amenities like a typical icon... It's close to the airport, with a free shuttle, but you need to call the shuttle to pick you up if you in the international terminal. Mediocre overall

Delightful Easter family stay at the Intercontinental. A return engagement for hubby and I. Two rooms for the price of one downtown stay plus a great deal on parking. The hotel's location provided ease of access to city and suburb venues for Easter celebrations with friends and family. Sunday brunch at Fresco 21 was delicious and very reasonable. The waffles and Mimosas were a hit with our entire family! Capped off the weekend with a short walk to the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. Hotel and restaurant staff were accommodating and gracious. We will return.

Room Tip: corner king deluxe rooms are extremely spacious

This hotel is new and extremely clean. I was given a corner room that was very large and nice. The shower was so refreshing- like a shower you'd find at a spa. Much better than the showers at competing brands that have a snazzy marketing name for their showers but fail to deliver on the name.

The front desk staff were nice, swift, and efficient. Overall, the service at this hotel is outstanding.

There are several dining options near the hotel- one inside the hotel (it was great), the Capital Grill and McCormick and Schmick's which are both located in the hotel's parking lot. Additionally, the outlets of Rosemont are a few minute's walk from the hotel.

Just watch out for the scary gold bird that's mounted to one of the shelves facing the bed. It's a little freaky!
