Strathmore

We stayed in Strathmore for one night when going to a wedding in the village. Some friends of ours were staying in the other room so we saw both rooms and both were lovely. Our room upstairs had an amazing view over distant countryside, the room downstairs is huge and has an en-suite breakfast room with a soft and lots of space and light. Tina the host is very friendly and welcoming and made us tea and biscuits when we arrived. She gave our friends lots of advice about walking routes nearby for the following day. The breakfast was excellent. We definitely recommend this place.

We received a very warm welcome from Tina when we arrived for a two night stay in the Old Coach House at Strathmore. She took time to show us a map of the area and explain various walks we could do and places to eat. Strathmore is ideally situated for visiting Dover Castle in one direction and Walmer and Deal Castles in the other. The accommodation is immediately adjoining the main house but has its own separate entrance. The enormous room is immaculate with a sitting/dinning area and sleeping area. The bed is comfortable and the shower in the en suite is something special! Breakfast cooked and served at our own dinning table by Tina was plentiful and delicious. We hope to return!

My partner and I were looking for a long-weekend getaway from London and chose the Kent coast. We wanted to do some coastal walks, see the white cliffs and unwind. We took a chance and booked the Coach room in Strathmore B and B and we had an amazing time.

The room is more like an apartment--with a separate dining table, couch and large TV. We slept late, lounged about, and felt incredibly comfortable in the space. Unlike most b and b's which consist of a small bedroom in house, at Stratmore it feels like you have your own annex--it felt like a proper weekend away.

The walks along the white cliffs to Dover and Deal were breathtaking, local pubs in St Margarets (5 minute walk down a quiet road) were great. There's an incredible bay just a 10 minute walk from the B and B where you can watch the waves roll in.

Tina went out of her way and cooked us great vegan breakfasts, kindly picked us up at the station, and was all around lovely--a very warm and thoughtful host. Do stay at Strathmore--I'm sure you'll be as pleased as we were!!

Thank you very much Tina, I'm sure we'll see you again!

Best,

Sean and Clare.

Located close to Dover and Canterbury, we had a great stay at Strathmore. Tina, our host, helped to make our stay calm, relaxing and enjoyable. Our room hat all most modern appliances and sitting area to relax after a long city trip to Canterbury. Breakfast was lovely with nothing to miss. All organic and high quality. Just a great place to be!

From arrival to departure great B & B. Tina's attention to detail is superb. Room and facilities are spotlessly clean and first class. Strathmore is family home in which you are made very welcome. We look forward to returning one day in the not too distant future.

A very good value, comfortable and luxurious B&B where everything is thought of. The hosts are very friendly but never intrusive and meet every request with a smile; they are also very helpful with local knowledge. The full English breakfast is cooked to order and is great. Highly recommended when exploring the Dover area with a car.

Room Tip: The coach house is the pick of the rooms.

Three of us stayed here when going to a local wedding. Tina and her family were wonderful hosts; the accommodation spacious clean and quiet and breakfast brimming with local produce. Far more enjoyable and personable than a hotel.
