“A Gem by the Tracks”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Finally made it here after one of friends said" you'll love this place".Hopefully I will be able to find it again after all the windy roads we took. There are signs but the 1st time we missed them.Set next to the tracks is a tiny little depot out of the 1800's.The parking lot was filling up as we arrived.I am sure on a nicer day this place is filled with bikers. The building itself is loaded with sights for the eyes once you are inside.Small tables are flanked by old pictures,nick-knacks , a pot bellied stove and a piano. We moseyed on up to the bar where they told us to go into the back room and pick out your drink MANY.beers, wine coolers, pop and bottled water filled the 3 large coolers .Amazing, the trust to get your own drink and bring it too them.Another room that had a sign that said post office above it was yet again filled antiques and checker boards on top of barrels and yes there were people playing! There was food available brats, pulled pork sandwiches but make sure your order is in because the person working the bar is also your cook and that's a lot to do in 2 different areas but people were patient and friendly as they waited to pay and just chatted among themselves and possibly made a new friend that day.Well people, that is not all.We headed down to the cow barn. This place is newer. There is an old stone barn that's on its last leg too.Inside this place is a small stage where the band was playing some good old music .Folks were signing along, some dancing and some just listening.A bar is also located in here but not as much selection as the station.Tables and chairs to make yourself comfortable inside or picnic tables outside. They also have made a walking path along the creek but don't fall in!During break we went back up to the station. Our friend was at the piano playing and signing. Some nights folks just arrive to visit and have a jam session. They bring their guitars ,fiddles or what ever instrument on hand and start playing and signing .Now that would be fun but they didn't do that this day. Can't wait to go again but was told that these get togethers were just on the weekends

“Unique Find”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

We were recommended to come here by co-workers who did not give much details - we arrive to find an over 100year old building with equally unique and engaging owners who make you truly feel right at home-I'm just sad we missed the a music night. During the warmer months they have a huge old cow barn in the back that host musicians as the owner stated often times just "stop by-we never know who will show up"- highly recommend this place and we will for sure return-just make sure you have cash (although if you dont they will take and "IOU" ...seriously).

“Great "Bar"!”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

We stopped here as part of my bachelorette party pub crawl, and I must say, this is the most fun I've had in a podunk hole in the wall! We arrived here first, and the party was already started with some live bluegrass musicians playing an upbeat folk piece. There was plenty of square dancing and conversation, and it really was a great time!
