After California and North of Surrey, UK.. We just should not have done this. .. It is very confusing when the same brand has a park and a center

Hi Sridhar,

Thanks for visiting! I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit to LEGOLAND Discovery Center - Chicago. It sounds like you've had a pleasant experience at both LEGOLAND Parks in California and Windsor, and that created your expectation for your visit in Chicago. Unfortunately LEGOLAND Discovery Centers are a bit different from the outdoor LEGOLAND parks. While we do share many of the same attractions (Miniland, lazer rides, LEGO building experiences) we are significantly different. The LEGOLAND parks are designed and priced as full or multi-day outdoor experiences, while the Discovery Centers are crafted and priced as 2-3 hour experiences inside. I'm sorry to hear that you expected something different when you visited. If you get a chance, make sure to check out our other LEGOLAND parks in Florida, Billund, Germany and Malaysia!

Again - sorry for the mix up and have a great day.

“Good for a few hours with young kids”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

The admission price is rather steep, but what can compare with seeing monkeys, made entirely of legos, swinging in a jungle a lego tiger and a lego alligator? The cafe prices should be criminal, but at least once you're in the building, all the attractions are included, even the 4D movies and the carnival ride. Kids under 12 will enjoy this place most.

Hi K C,

Thanks for writing a review on TripAdvisor! Sounds like the LEGO Jungle was particularly memorable for your family along with the 4D Theater and rides. We're always on the move so be sure to visit again soon to check out some new models and attractions!

“Fun for kids”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

It was a fun time. They have an additional $5 book you can look for things and get a stamp, the kids enjoyed that. They were excited for the prize at the end which was a just a little plastic disc, but would buy that again as it gave them more entertainement. We went during spring break and there were warnings about tickets selling out. They wanted you to prepay online, but you can't use a coupon. I took the chance and waitied and there was not a problem, saved us a lot of $ by using the coupon for both kids. They are in the lego magazines which you can sign up for free.

Hi Shellkerry,

I'm so glad that you and your family had a positive experience at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago. Spring Break is one of the busiest times of the year, so we encourage people to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee their entry into the center at the exact time they would like it, but its great to hear that you didn't need to wait! Our activity guidebooks are just another way to enhance the experience for the little ones, and doubles as a nice souvenir of the trip to the center! Thanks for coming!

Have a great day!

“Fun for lego fans!”
Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

For our daughters 9th bday grandma and grandpa bought us tickets to lego land (included a lanyard activity book and a free photo). She was extremely excited as she loves legos but I have to admit it is pricey so I had expected more out of it. The mini city you see when you enter, the jungle, and the star wars room are pretty cool to see. The 4D movie was fun as well. The "factory" was kind of a joke and I'm pretty sure some buttons were broken because they just skipped over those parts completely. The rides were kind of cool. We looked for the "lego friends" section that was on the map but it didnt exsist (bummer!). She liked building a car and racing it and attemtping the jump. The master builder class was ok but for such a small item and the price everyone pays to get in they should give it to you for free, instead you take it apart and if you want it you have to buy it in the gift shop. Honestly, it was fun and we spent 3hrs there (pushed it as long as we could) but for how much it would cost I would not go again. It is too pricey for what it has to offer.

Hi Liz,

Thanks for posting a review on TripAdvisor! First and foremost, I am so pleased that your daughter had fun at the center for her 9th birthday. It sounds like you enjoyed the majority of the center, but still had some feedback for us which I'll try to address. I've spoken with our technical team about the factory tour, and we're working on getting one of the buttons back in operation as soon as possible. I'm sorry that your family missed out on LEGO Friends, it has just recently been replaced after a large remodel of the second floor, and new lanyards will be in shortly reflecting that change. Two to three hours is pretty typical of the average family experience at the Center, so I'm happy you were able to experience everything in that amount of time. If you'd like to get in touch further, please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Thanks for the visit, and the feedback!

Nick
