Rosalie and Doug are pitch-perfect in setting exactly the right tone for this beautiful, historic B&B. Every room in this home is tastefully and elegantly decorated and is immaculately clean. The atmosphere is warm, hospitable and relaxed -- the opposite of stuffy. The attention to detail is remarkable. Our stay was enhanced by many small kindnesses -- iced tea on the porch, a few fresh flowers from the garden in our room, and friendly conversation. We were visiting the area to attend our grandson's baseball tournament. When we mentioned the time of the first game, the hosts kindly provided us with an earlier than usual breakfast. Breakfast was delicious, homemade and hearty. I think Rosalie and Doug are exceptionally talented at determining what their guests want, and they genuinely want to provide a satisfying experience. Maintaining these high standards must require a tremendous amount of work, but they make it look effortless.

Doug & Rosealie were fantastic hosts for this awesome surprise birthday present! I have driven by this gorgeous & wonderfully maintained home for years and had always wanted to spend the night there. I had built this place up in my head on how it looked on the inside & wasn't disappointed in anything. Doug & Rosealie greeted us as family, not as business owners & we had a great visit with them discussing the history of the home. Our room was comfortable, clean & decorated with period pieces. Breakfast was delicious as well! We look forward to our next visit with them soon!

Room Tip: The New Salem Room is really nice!

I echo the previous reviews, it's all true!! Such comfort, service and just like visiting old friends! Love staying in B&B's, and this stay was such a treat! Very quiet, a great way to take a deep breath and just reflect. :o)

Room Tip: All the rooms are great!!

We enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Flagg Farmstead Bed and Breakfast. Both Doug and Rosalie were very friendly. They enjoyed sharing about the history of the house, which was quite enjoyable for us. They also had homemade cookies waiting for us upon arrival which were quite delicious. We enjoyed using the porch swing and porch furniture to relax, watch the sunset and sip wine. We stayed in the Sarah Flagg room which had a comfortable bed, reading material, and mints left for us. The home is very beautiful. It was built in the Italianate style. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, blueberry pancakes, and bacon. It was a very delicious breakfast. They also gave complementary tickets to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, which was a very nice touch. They also offered a 5% discount for paying with cash or check. Overall, this is very fine establishment not only for the historical value and beauty of the building itself, but also in the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts.

We would highly recommend staying at the the Flagg Farmstead B&B. Super clean and nicely decorated and you could tell the hosts love running this place. The breakfast was delicious and the free tickets to the museum definitely made this a most affordable experience. If we ever come down to Springfield again, we're definitely coming back to FF B&B
