“A Perfect Winner for Our Sydney Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

Arriving in Sydney at 0610 on a Saturday morning after our 14 hour flight from LAX, we were so happy to have Julian arrive smiling to pick us up at the arrivals area. A short drive and we were at Tara, too early for our rooms of course, but welcomed by Brom and Oscar, their very happy sheepdog host. Breakfast was elaborate, multi-course and excellent, and the room was huge, with a massive bathroom and shower area. It is so wonderful to see walls filled with original art and memorabilia from across the globe, and Tara itself has an amazing history, being listed on the historic buildings roster. Later that AM, Brom gave us a detailed orientation to the Sydney environs, this being our first visit. Her annotated map became our guide for the 4 days of our visit, covering virtually all of the must-see spots with public transport guidance, and after our return each evening, we enjoyed a wonderful rehash of the days events with further suggestions from Brom & Julian over a glass of Australian rose. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the neighborhood loaded with excellent restaurants, very walkable, and such a perfect fit with our needs, even surpassing the numerous excellent previous reviews.

We stay at Tara Guest House when we were in Sydney for our Honeymoon for 2 pleasant nights. We have never stay at B&B before, but the stay was so great and memorable that I cannot describe the beauty by the limited words here.

We found Julian in the airport and on the way we already had a very pleasant talk just make us feel like friends. And when we arrive, the house itself, make us feels like at home. We were also very amazed by the full of Asian taste art pieces, the beautiful court yard and the cozy bright room. Morning were always the things we are waiting for, not only because we are going to explore the city but more for the marvelous breakfast!! The breakfast is soooo good and full of variety that we skip our lunch for two days....

Love to talk with the guests and Julian and Brom, and if you are the first time traveling to Sydney, you have to follow Brom's map to the Bondi Beach!! It was amazing to see the city from the sea.

We miss Julian and Brom and will definitely go back in the very next vocation in Austrila. JULIAN, do you see my review(wink wink) ?

Room Tip: they also have a honeymoon suite!

Tara was our last stop on our east coast road trip ,and the old saying saving the best to last was so true.
We stayed in 15 different bed and breakfasts all unique and wonderful on our trip, the difference with Tara is that you feel at home straightaway and part of their extended family. They provide stylish accommodation, breakfasts better than any five star hotel we have stayed in and an extensive knowledge of the area.
I think what we really appreciate was the great conversation at breakfast but also the ability to leave guests to their own devices .We will return so keep the bed warm x

Back at home now, and the memory of our experience at Tara is still quite fresh. Without doubt the best and most unique accommodation experience ever! The unexpected highlight of our trip!
The house itself is a beautiful, huge old terrace, filled with light, art and inspiring treasures.. including Oscar, the soulful dog who lovingly greets your every return to the house. Julian picked us up at the airport in the jeep and drove us back when we were leaving, which just made our experience in Sydney all the more cosy. Brom and Julian; both wonderfully creative people, share so much of themselves and extend genuine hospitality with a warmth that is rarely found. Hard not to adore them.
The room was fantastic! The bed more comfortable than we were used to, making it sometimes a little difficult to get downstairs in the morning in time for breakfast. Oh the breakfasts!!! Festive breakfasts! At a huge table shared with the loveliest people. Inspired banter and food to die for. Staying at Tara transformed an ordinary interstate trip into precious holiday memories of a lifetime. Thanks Brom and Julian, we miss you. x

Room Tip: We loved our room. It was the one with the telescope..pics on the website.

We spent 3 days at Tara and could not have picked a better place to stay. The airport pick-up from Julian meant we were fully relaxed from the moment we landed. Tara is a beautiful oasis in cosmopolitan Enmore. Only 7 minutes walk to the train station - ideally located for all access points on public transport for greater Sydney.

Bron and Julian are terrific hosts who make you feel like you have known them for years. Breakfasts are scrumptious - expertly prepared and cooked with the finest, freshest ingredients and the conversations across the table are wide-ranging, entertaining and memorable.

We would definitely recommend a stay with Bron and Julian to anyone who wants a unique B and B of the highest quality

Two superb nights at Tara. Two sumptuous breakfasts. Two splendid hosts. This venue deserves all the accolades it receives. I think it's one of those golden places; the kind where, in years to come, people will say, "I stayed at Tara." And others will go, "Oh, I wish I had."

We stayed in the massive downstairs double room suite with our five-year-old son. We arrived later than anticipated and close to midnight. Despite this, and the fact she was unwell, Brom stayed up and received us with complete graciousness. We met Julian the next morning, cheerfully cooking us the best breakfast we have ever eaten.

Julian and Brom personify hospitality. Their generosity and skill creates such an atmosphere of warmth and ease. Come noon, we found ourselves still at their table, chatting with fellow guests (former strangers) and in no need of lunch.

Tara offers more than comfortable, characterful, conveniently-located accommodation; it's an experience in its own right. If you're visiting Sydney, you should treat yourself to Tara. Actually, you should go to Sydney so you can stay at Tara. It's that special.
