This was my first visit to the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum. Although small it is well laid out and the exhibits are mainly on loan from Kentish people who lived through the Battle of Britain. I was surprised that it was free entry and think a small entry fee would be more that justified. The museum is in two sections, the first devoted to The Spitfire and the second to The Hurricane. The cafe is well run and prices fair. I spent over four hours at the museum and could have spent longer if time permitted

I love the museum. Don't expect a huge hangar full of Spitfires and Hurricanes. There are 2 planes, which are impressive, but it's all the other artefacts, which have been donated by locals that makes you stop and take time to read its origin and the story behind them all. Lovely staff run the free museum, the picnic area is nice outside as is the Merlin Cafe.

A fabulous little museum and although it is free, it is certainly worth making a contribution to. The 2 planes are the main focus and the rooms are surrounded by items from WWII. A very enjoyable visit.

A nice small shop on site; very reasonably priced. Cafe also and toilet facilities. The cafe overlooks Kent airport and seating available outside. The only downside, at the time of our visit, was the ladies in the shop and entrance, as they were not friendly at all and hardly acknowledged us as we walked in.

Apart from that, would highly recommend a visit.

While on a coach tour we called at this Museum. No entry charge This small museum is crammed with a Spitfire, a Hurricane and hundreds of WWll artefacts and exhibits including Ration Books, Gasmasks, Letters from Airmen, Uniforms, Armoury and Weapons and much more.
It is the past re-lived. There is also the Memorial Gardens and the sight of planes using the airport next door.
There is also a good cafe and gift shop, opportunities to give a donation and is well worth a visit for anyone,

I was on holiday from Fife and had seen many of the more famous tourist attractions in Kent like Dover Castle and Canterbury Cathedral yet this will live just as long in the memory. It is a very small museum and, incredibly, free.Yet it takes a good while to really immerse yourself in the exhibits whether it be RAF uniforms, letters of the period, medals,Barnes Wallis' bouncing bomb. The Spitfire and Hurricane are outstanding and it brought back memories of a similar museum in Malta.I will return. The Second World War is fast becoming History but this must be a fabulous learning experience for schools. We must never forget we owe our freedom to the Few.
