I am local to this museum but hd not visited lately. This was my loss what a fantastic place to visit ,if your in Thanet you must visit this museum. There is so much to see with two fantastic planes in pristine condition,a Spitfire and Hurricane. With lots of other exhibits from ww2 ,there is also a cafe adjacent to the museum which you can sit in or if a sunny day outside overlooking Manston airport.

Free to get into and relying on donations, this small yet interesting museum is worth searching out. It wasn't large enough for me to warrant driving any distance to see. Having said that it paired perfectly with visiting the RAF mansion history museum next door and incorporating the two, worked well. This little museum had lots of really interesting display play cases, with war time memorabilia, that was not just plane orientated. Included a large range of German items. I. Not really into this type of thing, but I still found it interesting to walk around. There's a large free car park and a cafe attached.

We visited here 10 years ago and came back with our two year old son, whilst on holiday, great history and exhibits, lovely staff and facilities, there is a cafe on site although we did not eat there the food looked wonderful, next time will deff eat there, there is no fee here but we left a donation.

Free Parking and Free Admission although donations are welcome but not mandatory. This is a small museum which features one Hurricane and one Spitfire amongst a whole range of artifacts associated with both. Staff are available to answer questions and it is easy to spend an hour wandering around the exhibits. The Merlin Cafe adjoins the museum and offers indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy a cup of tea and a cake after your visit. Your Sat Nav may take you to the museum along Manston Road from the Ramsgate direction and you will find it quite narrow in places.
