They didn't have our reservation, and acted confused and rude at check-in. Opentable.com showed wide open, yet they said they were completely full. Never had this happen before. They don't seem tied to OpenTable at all. They put us at table #14, a small table for 2 in a doorway and traffic path to the bathroom. (I remember because they muttered to each other that was the table for Open Table, like they were penalizing people for using Open Table). People kept banging into my husband's chair. I actually had to ask an EMPLOYEE to stop passing thru that way. Another patron piped in and sympathized as he had had that table in the past. Husband's steak was "Dominick's grade" They 1st said they wer out of the only Sauvenign Blanc (sp?) that was aval by the glass, then lo and behold our server came up w/ a bottle. she said something about there not being abartender on that floor????. She was covereing up. I watched another server spill a drink on the back of a patron and not say antyhing about it. Our server was good, but this restaurant was not. We could have gone to Olive Garden and it would have been better. They should not be an Open Table member. Period.

I had the chicken marsala and the fried calamari which were both excellent. The wine selection was good. My only issue was the service since it took well over 30 minutes after the appetizer did the entrees arrive. The waitress also spilled our wine and we never got comped for it.

I'm surprised nobody has written about Philly G's before! This gem has been owned by the Gilardi family for the past four generations. Previously called Gilardi's Italian Steakhouse, it has a very nice traditional atmosphere (think Lady & the Tramp) with little white lights, and enclosed-deck area seating. They also have a large party room.

The food is excellent, and moderately priced with pastas ranging from about $15 and steaks about $25, with chicken about $17 and seafood about $20. I don't drink, so I can't speak for their wine list. The last time I was there I had a fantastic pasta dish with mostaccioli-type noodles with fresh peas and chicken in a creamy tomato sauce; can't remember what the name is, though.

Service is fantastic, as the owner (Phil Gilardi) is usually there during operating hours.
