Description: A wonderful little gem in downtown Wheaton just 2 blocks from the Metra. Serving delicious, homemade dishes using preservative free ingredients and hormone/anti-biotic free beef, pork, bison, chicken and eggs. Fresh fish featured weekly, live music every Monday night, a great wine list and quaint sidewalk dining with alcohol service. We buy from businesses within our community, or from small businesses who are an integral part of their communities and try to have a positive impact on their environment. Opened in 2007, this husband & wife owned restaurant was nominated for Restaurant of the Year in 2010. You will be impressed with the ambiance of the small dining room, the personal, attentive service by the wait staff and the delicious menu options.

“Cozy atmosphere and homemade flavor.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

For dinner, this place is perfect for a date or dinner with friends. We picked it because someone in our party has an allergy to preservatives, and places that tout homemade, local, hormone free recipes are typically a safe bet. We tried the Mushroom and Brie soup and Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Bisque soup. Both were delicious, but I thought the bisque was a little bit on the bland side. Very fresh though. Pizza was average and it's unfortunate that the burgers come with horseradish without the option of ordering it without. Two people tried the specials, a pan-seared halibut dish with an asian twist and the cheese crusted lamb chops that were very tasty.

Save room for dessert, for 2 reasons!: One, everything we tried was incredible (tirimisu, mint/choc chip icecream, chocolate cake, and brownie). The whip cream is wonderful. Two: the portions are HUGE.

Since the meals were 50% good and 50% great, I have to give this an average rating, but we are all willing to go back and try out some other stuff. I'd get the lamb chops again.

“Should be more places like this!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

I've been here twice and both times I have enjoyed the food and also the wine! The atmosphere is quaint and cozy! I love, love that they try to use locally grown, preservative free, fresh heathly food! I would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

This is the best restaurant in downtown Wheaton. The food is always excellent and the beer and wine selection is unique. This is a can't miss experience.

“Not too shabby”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2014 via mobile

We recently tried the Cellar Bistro. The sliders were really good, but I wish the came with fries instead of potato salad. Come on, how do you have a burger without fries. The service was decent but not overly attentive. The ambience was just ok, as the tables seemed a little crowed.
