we stayed here for the weekend camping, the sites here are spacious, there is a full hook up part of the campground that does have more mature trees in it, the electric campground does have trees and privacy and a nice view of the prairie with the wooded trees behind the prairie. I would not be disappointed in either having the electric or full hook up sites. the have a nice bike path, that we did enjoy and you take it out to some of the trails that run by the water. The waterpark has a lazy river and was enjoyed by both adults and kids. two water slides one as a body slide which can be a little rough on the elbows. and one is a tube slide. a kiddie splash area. clean and facilities. they have several trails. and it is quite never heard anyone talking at night or to early in the morning, restrooms clean. farm was good, Indian village was lacking and needs to be kept up better, and parking is limited and at the visitor center.

It rained the day we were at Prophetstown, so that washed out our hiking. We did tour the farm, which is well done and interesting. We also drove over to the visitors center and checked it out. It was raining too hard to try to check out the Prophetstown Indian Village, but I did manage a few photos from further away. We made the best of it and it was a decent afternoon.

Really enjoyed the weekend at Prophetstown State Park. Two distinct camping experiences in one location. Full hookup sites are in a well established wooded area. Electric only sites are adjacent to open fields with few trees. Once this camping area matures, the area will be much more enjoyable with a great deal more shade. Excellent walking paths through the park. I was most impressed the the size and number of playgrounds available onsite. Plus the benefit of an aquatics center with a 30' slide and lazy river all for only $5 per person. It is no wonder that most of the campsites are booked on weekends for the entire summer.

Really nice state park, campground is one of our favorites! Sites are spacious and well laid out. Nice playground, hiking trails, kids can bike around the campground. Nice aquatic center, has a lazy river, waterslide, and nice water play area for the littler kids (mini water slide, sprayers, dump bucket). Always nice and quiet. Take a quick trip to the old farmhouse...neat for kids to see how it was back in the day! They also like the cows and pigs, etc on the farm.

We have stayed at the camp ground several time and we always take a walk or bike ride around the park. The paved trails are great for bikes and even the trails that are not paved are manicured and taken very good care of. There are several play ground areas, pavilions, a pond, working farm, water park and Indiana village. So much to do and see!
