“One of the best breakfast, and excellent service”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

We traveled to Athens with our 10 month old son for our friends wedding. My husband who lived almost 9 years in Athens chose this hotel because of its location mainly. It was really very convenient to access anywhere in Athens and we could always park our car right in front of the hotel door.

When I first arrived I was a little bit upset because of our room; which was quite small, too much simple/toneless and unfortunately noisy as it was at first floor. The view was anyway nice as it is right in front of the sea (and the main street). But each day I spent at Poseidon I loved to be there more. First of all their breakfast is really amazing, I think it is one of the best I had in all Greece. And the crew was outstanding , you would never find such a service even at 5 star hotels. I would say each of them were very helpful, positive and skillful people. Even our little son stayed very much in peace, as they were really loving and caring.

The only critic I can make is that; they charge you the deck chairs at beach which I found it weird to do for the hotel guests. Anyway the hotel has really a reasonable price for what you get as a package. So I definitely advise this hotel for the people who would not spent too much time in their room but wants to exposure Athens and its sincere/lovely people and the amazing cuisine of course...

Booked a Family Room which was 2 interconnecting rooms located on the 6th floor (underneath the restaurant). Rooms were clean but could probably do with a cosmetic facelift. Loved the rooftop pool and bar, but keep note that the pool closes at 7pm during the summer. Views from our balcony were amazing. Yes the hotel is located on a six lane road, so don't ask for a sea view room if you have a problem with noise. On the Saturday night of our stay we were subjected to music and chairs dragging from the restaurant above us as there was a wedding taking place. But there were plenty of notices posted at the Hotel alerting guests to the wedding. The buffet breakfast was amazing...with a wide variety of cold and hot foods. The staff at the Hotel were great. The tram and airport bus stop is right across the road and Syntagma Sq is only a 8E taxi ride away. WIFI is not free at this hotel.
Note of caution though: check your minibar when you first arrive. Our mini bar was minus some items when we moved in and which the hotel proceeded to charge us for but they did reverse the charges when we complained. But we would return to this Hotel.

I say unexpected because it was part of a two week tour I booked and I assumed the hotels would be much lower quality. Way wrong. I stayed for 3 nights before the tour and then another 3 nights after the tour because I loved it so much. The rooftop pool and bar are something you would find in a hotel 10x the price in the US. Great lounge area with views of the beach. Nice DJ at night. I spent most of my time in a huge fat-boy bean bag chair lounging by the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful - teaching me a few words in Greek even, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. Right out front was the stop for the airport bus and the tram into the main square. For the money? Unreal.

We have used this hotel in Athens for a number of years.
It is right across the road from the beach, where it has its own secure section of loungers and a beach bar. We did think charging guests to use loungers in the beach area was not very good.
The staff are excellent, being so helpful, friendly and doing all they can to make a stay relaxed and welcoming.
The rooftop swimming pool is excellent, clean and well kept. The staff are again very attentive and friendly, loungers are comfortable and towels provided each visit are clean and a good size.
The sky bar is amazing with magnificent views over the gulf.
The bedrooms are comfortable and cleaned daily. Our en suite was cleaned well and comfortable.
The breakfasts are outstanding with plenty of choice to choose from!!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel can be affected by noise from the road, so ask for one around level...

Very good location of this hotel, just acros the sea and close to Athens and to Glifada is the advantage. Clean rooms, good staff, nice roof top sweeming pool with wonderful view, fantastic breakfast... Parking is free and in near residential area. Only disadvantage is internet, which is not free, what is different than in majority hotels in Greece. My full recomendation to this hotel and this is the reason I repeated staying in it.

I have stayed at the Poseidon Hotel several times. It is located across from Alimos Beach and is also close to the tram. The front rooms provide a nice balcony overlooking the sea. I would recommend others to stay here as it is close to the Faliro Marina if you want to take the day cruise to the saronic islands of Hydra, Poros and Aegina.

We havent stayed at the hotel but have been visiting Hotel Poseidons Beach area for the last 5 weeks, fantastic service, clean raked sand areas, sunbeds and parasols for a good price (5.50 weekdays and 7 weekends including 1 bottle of water per sunbed) waiter service which is fast, snacks available at reasonable charges and the main reason we keep going back? security!!! Although the public can walk through the area, security is top notch, no lucky lucky men can get past them into the area so no hassle from them to buy dodgy sunglasses. Also because the sunbeds are spacious and not crammed together, it is very easy to keep an eye on belongings even when swimming. The beach area also has a lifeguard up until 5pm.

Onto our last week in Greece and going off schedule so we can visit Poseidon again.

If you do get a chance to visit, dont leave any belongings on the floor if you are on the first two rows of sunbeds, the waves occasionaly go underneath them!!!
