Wonderful time! A perfect Mother’s Day retreat!! The Beverly Shores Drive was a sweet end to most of our nights. Love everything about this house. The lilac bushes were also my favorite. Really wish there was a fire pit to hang out at, but nonetheless beautiful. Great job! See you here again soon. CAN’T WAIT!

We traveled from central Minnesota to spend our honeymoon enjoying the sand dunes! DunesWalk Inn made our stay even more enjoyable and relaxing! We loved the charm of the older building but the convenience of it's modern updates.

We have stayed at Dunes Walk Inn a couple of times now. My partner and I meet there since it is about half way between where we're living now. The last time we were there, we got there just ahead of a blizzard. It was quiet and beautiful and a great experience.

I know others have mentioned concerns about noise or security, but we didn't have any of those worries. You can hear cars on occasion (though when you're there in the middle of winter, you don't hear a lot). We did hear trains in the distance, but found that pleasant.

While there is no on-site manager, they do a great job of providing contact information. The area where the inn is located is great for walking and exploring. There are nearby neighbors, but you still get seclusion and privacy. Well, at least we did and there were maybe only one or two other rooms being used when we were there last. The time before there was no one else in the inn.

It is a nice location to get to the dunes, parks, restaurants and other sights in the area.

We will definitely visit again.

The DunesWalk Inn is more like DunesDrive Inn-- a close drive, but a drive nonetheless. We stayed for 1 night and it was understandably strange arriving to an old renovated mansion with no front desk and a questionable number of guests also staying there. The spook factor of the exterior was removed once we saw the clean, contemporary rooms and the nice accommodations. There is plenty of literature in the front room if you're looking for something to do, and we had no problems accessing the building and our room with the codes provided. Staying only one night meant no problems with room cleaning/replenishment either, but I can imagine that this would factor into the decision if it were a longer stay. On one hand, the price fits the accommodations (beautiful room, bathroom and kitchen) but on the other hand it stings since there is no breakfast included, nor other typical hotel services. I think this hotel is suitable for couples but I'm not sure about families. All in all, it was a nice retreat but the price was a bit high.

This is an unmanned hotel - all contact is done by e mail.

It is not a walk to the Dunes but a drive.

It faces a very busy state highway and train tracks and the noise can be loud.

Yet it is a former home that is nicely refurbished with very spacious suites.

Ditto the positive reviews re: aesthetics and good karma for fixing up an historic home, but know that your room is not cleaned during your stay. One extra set of towels is provided, but trash is not emptied, floors are not swept (hello, beach sand!), and bedding is not changed.

There is no staff on-site, and our call to management went unreturned. Maybe you could request a mid-stay room cleaning during booking; we just didn't realize that was something we'd have to ask for.

No onsite staff also means a code pad to enter the building, and counting on other guests to lock the door upon entering. Twice we returned to find the front door unlocked.

Overall, beautiful property and comfy bed, but very pricey (over 150/night with the steep IN tax) for no breakfast and no cleaning once you check in.

Room Tip: Our room facing the back of the property (South Shore King) was quiet and had 4 big windows, nice sh...
