“"Arnold's Drive In" Is a Walk Back into the 60's”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Are you old enough to remember drive-in restaurants, where the waitresses took the orders wearing poodle skirts, on roller skates? If you dine inside, you'll enjoy the entire walls covered with memorabilia including posters, records, school letter jackets, and the list goes on. The era rooms are separated by hanging beads. It is just too cool!

The food is delicious! I love the skinny french fries, which again are a thing of the past. Spanish dogs, onion rings, all those foods you enjoyed at drive-ins you'll probably find at Arnold's.

I like the food, but the top of the list are the chocolate malts. Served like in the past in the silver metal, tall container. They are like a glass and a half. There is no way I can finish one. I almost always leave with a take home cup of at least half of my malt, but I still have to have one!

The juke box is playing all the time the songs of the past. It is just like somehow, time has gone back, and then stopped, and stood still, for a little while, in another time. It's fun to go back to that other time, to live it again, at least for a little while!

“Cool place made me feel good”
Reviewed 16 October 2011

Cool place, I felt like The Fonz would walk in with the gang any minute.Food was pretty good.I would have liked to see more 50's 60's original choices, but burgers are good and they do have some sides to match. I would reccomend it (and i have) to others.

“Worst place to eat in Decatur”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

I have to say that Arnold's looks amazing! All the 50's and 60's decor is really cool to look at. But hey if you want to see old things, go to a antiques store or a museum. Don't waste your time here because the food is awful! I have been here many times (because friends that have never been there want to see it). Every time i go i try something new to see if i can find something good. For example, last time i went just so happen to be yesterday 7-28-11. I order the potsy burger that supposedly had thousand island dressing and was suppose to be smothered in onions. Well when i got my burger ( a VERY thin slice of "meat") it was burnt with barely any onions and NO thousand island. I paid $5.79 for a burnt burger and potato chips(the potato chips were awful as well). To try to off set the disgusting burger i ordered a shake. How can anyone mess up a shake you ask? Well, if you put more milk then ice cream is how. Did i mention the shakes are about $4 bucks after taxes! My family lives in Decatur and they will NOT eat at Arnolds because the food is so bad. If you want really good drive in food i would recommend Bummies in Bluffton. Really good food for a lot cheaper.
