I have been going to this hotel since it opened. I can remember when the brass was shiny and new, looked like gold in all the bathrooms. Although the hotel has undergone a partial remodel, the age of fixtures shows. The toilet being separated from the main bathroom is nice, but the lighting is poor, making it feel like a dungeon. The mini fridge is very convenient, and much better than the expensive mini-bar that it replaced. The beds are, and always have been, extremely comfortable pillow tops. There is some bunching up on the mattresses now, and a bit of a dip towards the middle. In a king-size room, there is a nice chair, along with the standard table and chair. Wifi is like $12 for 24 hours, and should be offered free. The walk to the casino and concourse with all the restaurants and stores is a nice walk, with moving sidewalks for part of the way.Early in the week, restaurant choices are few, as most are closed. Breakfast is at the over-crowded Aroma Cafe in the hotel lobby, or on the boat. We ordered room service, which was surprisingly very reasonably priced. The breakfast pizza is plenty for 2 or 3, and very tasty! Overall, the Horseshoe continues to be a good choice as the place to stay when visiting the casino or attending a show. You will enjoy your experience with all the friendly employees at the casino and the hotel.
