The RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart is a nice attraction for an $8 entry fee (senior discount). There are more than 50 trailers and motorhomes from 1913 to the present. These RVs are the highlight of the museum tour. It is interesting to follow the evolution of the RV industry over the past 100 years. Many of the RVs/trailers on display are in their original condition so you get a real feel for how people camped in them. We did not visit the library, but the volunteer explained there are publications that date back to 1922 and are available to read, but not to be checked out.

It cost us $8 each to go through this hall of fame but I think it was worth it. The volunteer, Lee, was very informative. We can actually walk into some of the older models of RV's so it is a step back in time. If you like old stuff this is the place. The facility is "new and top of the line" . This city should be proud of this facility.

This RV museum in Indiana had all kinds of interesting and historical RVs. There was a lot of information and a lot to see both about the RVs and also their makers. We enjoyed our visit.

My husband & I debated on whether this museum was worth the $10 per adult admission fee. In the end we decided it was.
This is a very modern, nice building with excellent parking. It faces the Toll road, so it has great visibility. The upstairs has a bunch of pictures of people who are or were instrumental in the RV business. We decided we weren't interested in that, so we skipped it.
The 2 halls with the RVs were what we came for. The first hall had the least amount of RVs in it. There was a running film on the RV industry also. The RVs were OK.
The second hall had the best selection of antique RVs I've ever seen. Their oldest was a 1914 RV in excellent shape. The RVs are all displayed in a camping type setting & you can actually go through most of them. We really enjoyed that!
There's also a modular home outside the museum you can go through as well. Elkhart has a thriving modular home industry as well as an RV.
There's a gift shop in the foyer, but I thought it was really overpriced. $1 for a postcard, really?
So, if you are into RVs, be sure & try to fit this into your travel schedule. Otherwise, it will probably be a boring time for you.
