“All Things Change ...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

We first stopped here in May 2006, on our way West. At that time, the hotel and staff were just wonderful - friendly people, clean & quiet room, fresh linens on the bed, excellent Continental breakfast, and more. We remembered that experience and stayed 2 nights at the end of March 2012. We were quite disappointed! The pillows had a musty smell so we put towels over top of them. Surprise - Hampton installed two sleep-disturbers, a microwave and a small fridge, in a credenza at the foot of the bed. The microwave display shone like a headlight so we draped a towel over it. But the periodic noise of refrigeration system cycles were enough to drive one crazy. But get this: perhaps 3 people were at the Inn on Saturday night, and with over 100 rooms to let, where do you think the staff put a single man? Right next door! While he was reasonable with the volume control while watching a movie, the main and suite connector doors admitted lots of sound and light into our darkened room. Putting it mildy, restful sleep was impossible. We broke out the earplugs and blindfolds and attempted to get some rest. Even so, the annoying, tinny, high-pitched ring tone of his cell phone, at 1:21 am, disturbed our sleep. Breakfast was a mess, with microwaved egg buds and leathery strips of bacon served up with undercooked waffles/pancakes lying languidly on a plastic plate. Goodbye Hampton! Next time, we will try Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, located just across the street.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms. All the heating/AC units make such a noisy racket that we were kept awake...

This hotel is well located. Just off of I-80/90. They are in the midst of a major road repair so getting in and out is a little tricky the first time. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly. There are a number of major places to eat within walking distance. The small Amish communities in the area are easy to get to.

Hotel was clean, included breakfast was ok although not really hot, sausages looked undercooked, even though I know they are fully cooked when the outside isn't browned not very appetizing. Since they and the egg patties weren't really hot it added to the impression that they weren't cooked all the way. Room was comfortable in the way of all major chain hotels.

I stayed in this Hampton for nearly 2 months while working on a project in Elkhart. When I first checked in, the Stanley Cup playoffs were starting, but realized that the hotel didn't have VERSUS on their channels. When I inquired if it were possible to get it, they said they would check into it, and they did, and they got it as a choice. I know it may not seem like much to most folks, but when you're a hockey nut, like I am and there's only one channel that carries it, well, there aren't many options at that point. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Hotel, and will not only stay there again, but will recommend it to anyone who is in the area. Their breakfast is fabulous, the rooms, more than comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful, plus, the Patel's are wonderful folks. Thank you for making my stay there something to remember.

Oh, and PS- the bathroom remodel is really nice. A great place to stay!!

Room Tip: Try to make reservations if you know you are going to be in the area.

The friendly staff let us check in early, and check out late (so I could enjoy the sun out behind the pool.) I only stay at Hilton Hotel properties: this was one to which we'll happily return.
