Owner description: Hello, We would like to have our attraction listed under Indianapolis, Indiana so we can show up in the list of things to do in Indianapolis. As you can see, our physical address actually falls within the city of Fishers, Indiana. However, fishers is actually a suburb of Indianapolis that visitors would not be aware. Visitors that come to Indianapolis will look in "Indianapolis" for interesting things to do in our area. Is there a way we can get on that list? Conner Prairie, a nationally acclaimed outdoor history museum, is a fantastic day activity for children and adults of all ages. Perfect for families, groups, clubs, school field trips and more. Come explore the beautiful grounds of the park and visit different time periods in Indiana history. Areas include: 1816 Lenape Camp, 1836 Prairietown, 1886 Civil War Journey, the William Conner House and the 1859 Balloon Voyage. You may also enjoy meeting baby farm animals and learning about Conner Prairie's heritage breeds at the Animal Encounters Barn. Or take a ride on the 1859 Balloon Voyage, a helium filled tethered hot air balloon ride that takes you 350 feet into the air above the park. Don't forget the hiking trails, summer splash pad and the newest exhibit, a four-story tree house with integrated learning stations. The outdoor grounds at Conner Prairie are open to the public April-October with some limited hours. Please check the Conner Prairie website for current hours. The indoor Discovery Center, Create Connect and additional special programs are offered year-round. Museum Shop open year-round. Closed Mondays.

“Great day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2012

We weren't sure how this visit was going to go with two rambunctious ten year olds. They loved it and we spent the entire day..arriving at open and leaving as they closed. The park is well laid out, priced well for families (well maybe with exception of the fact they actually charged for a cup of water), and the staff was very interactive with the kids. We will be back.

“Well-run interactive park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2012

The new Civil War Journey is open and, while more scripted than the remainder of the park, is a great introduction to the Civil War that manages to engage older kids while not being too graphic for younger ones.

“Fun for all ages.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2012

I am surprised how much my pre school daughters love Conner Prairie. I've been to other living museums and sometimes things are a little over the top. Conner Prairie on the other hand is very authentic. You can walk through communities, homes, stores and interact with the residents. When I have guests in from out of town, they seem to enjoy the history too.

Conner Prairie would get five stars, but I'm a little disappointed in the new Civil War exhibit. To me the novelty of Conner Prairie is it's staff and interactivity. The Civil War exhibit replaces its staff with multimedia and videos. I can stay home and watch the history channel or use my computer if I wanted to see a bunch of videos. :/
