While this hotel ammenties seem to offer a lot. The staff and restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Restaurants are not open after 10. The rent a cop at the entrance of the gaming area was rude and so unprofessional. No one was drinking or anything. She added her rude comments to people that were not talking to her. We decided after our first night that all 5 of us needed to cancel the rest of our stay. At 400.00 a night per room, I would expect some courtsey.

I observed this rude behavior to people that were not with me.

If you want to eat only ice cream, this is the place for you!! Hotel is nice but everything else was not.

If you are coming to this place for an event like racing, stay far away. Take the extra drive and stay some where else.

We were pleasantly surprised when we decided to spend two days at the Belterrra Riverboat Casino resort. Our deluxe king room was nicely appointed and roomy. The dinner buffet was a bit disappointing. In hindsight we wish we would have eaten at their full service restaurant. Breakfast buffet was good, but don't wait too late for it, as they started to remove food prior to the 11:00 end time. The hotel lobby has a Starbuck's, Ben & jerry's and a few interesting shops, including one that carried an assortment of Brighton. We would stay again for a nice little getaway! We did not take advantage of the spa, Fazio golf course, workout room or pool.

My husband and I have been frequenting Belterra for more than 8 years. We usually go about every 2 months. We have been very busy for the past 6 months and have not been able to go. We always got complimentary rooms for one or two nights through Harriett our Belterra hostess. We averaged spending a minimim of $350 and upwards to $1200 during our visit on gambling alone. We also ate the buffet for breakfast and dinner during our stay. When I phoned yesterday to see if we could get a complimentary room for next month, Harriett called back and left a message saying she could bet us a room for one Thursday night at $39 and Friday night at $159. Needless to say, I was both surprised and disappointed. You would think that more than 8 years of loyalty from Kentucky folks would be more valuable to them. I cannot believe that just becasue we have missed a few months in going, we are no longer eligible for complimentary rooms. Guess we will be forced to find another casino in which to spend our money.

I'm aware this isn't Vegas but I was thoroughly disappointed with Belterra as a casino and a resort. We came down for the Bob Newhart show, having bought our tickets way in advance. We walked into the front doors and the entrance is quite grand. The walkway to the casino is, again, quite grand. But you walk onto "the boat" and it's tiny. Tiny, compact and, from my perspective, not very inviting.

But what really disappointed me (and my wife for that matter) was the venue for watching Bob Newhart's show. There is NO TIERED SEATING. That means that you can't see over the person in front of you. For someone of average height, like my wife, that results in her barely seeing any of Bob's show. Even for a tall man like myself, with our seats in nearly the back row, I could barely see him (Bob Newhart).

At the price of the tickets, the distance we had to drive and the price of the hotel (which we avoided by staying at a nice Ramada hotel in Sparta) you would think the hotel would accommodate their guests better for a major act like Bob Newhart.

Five of us met at the Belterra, we partied and had lots of fun with all the amenities at the Hotel, especially our gambling time. The Hotel is a beautiful place, rooms spectacular and the people so hospitable. The food at the buffet is outstanding. I recommend the Belterra to go and get away and relax. We will be going back again, it is highly recommended. Thank you Belterra.

Visited for a weekend that included business and a lot of social activities. However, when out at the pool, had a very intoxicated man start using profanity at myself, my husband and friend as we sat on our lounge chairs. He continued to berate us for several minutes until security came, talked to him, escorted him to his cabanna directly behind us and then proceeded to have us move our chairs and he did not have to leave the pool area. Apparently, he (family) spent lots of money at the casino, therefore, he could do whatever he wanted. I will not frequent a place that allows that behavior and treatment of other guests.

We arrived a few days ago and are staying till next Wensday, or longer. We are the brummett's. Outside of Vegas......., we have been to Tunica, a number of casinos in Indiana, to St., Louis @ Harriahs- however it is spelled- that was a wasted trip and bad stay. This, belterra is the place to be. As a Presidential hopefull for 2012/2016, a Government DOD contractor. We feel safe here, we win more than lose, the food is perfect. They have the hottest ladies in and out of the casino. The rooms are clean, the staff are personable and nice. Though we LOVE casino LIVE in Shelbyville near Indy, our third home, they do not have a hotel. This place is great for the family on vacation and on business. There is alloootttt to do around here, if you take the time to look, guest services is great and will help you

Room Tip: if you want a view and non smoking, tell'm
