“Kinda neat”
Reviewed 28 February 2013

We have been to CS3 a few times now, and have found the atmosphere to be great, the food good, and the service good. Prices are in line for the type of establishment it is. The burgers are well made, and the drink specials are decent. We think the menu is pretty limited, but expected.
It's not high-end, and doesn't claim to be, they do a great job. We will go back.

“good eats near downtown”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

Was pleasantly surprised at the friendly atmosphere and the menu. The decor and bar are nostalgic (old) and really cool. Enjoyed the food very much. A bit hit for trying a new place.

“great atmosphere, okay food”
Reviewed 10 November 2012

I want to love this place, but it just falls short of expectations set by its name - a place called Soup, Salads and Spirits should excel at these offerings, and while it's still good, it's nothing great. It's a really cool old building, always very clean, the service is wonderful, the bar has a great selection, the live music they bring in is refreshing.... BUT... most times I'm left just a little disappointed in the actual meal. Wraps and sandwiches are just okay, mostly no different than anything you can prepare at home with the basics. The burgers are better, and the pretzel bun is a nice touch. The salads, like the wraps, just kind of miss- iceberg lettuce and average toppings with uninventive dressings. The salad bar, while kept very fresh and tidy, is again, just simply average and very small. Soups change daily and most are good, but usually need a little doctoring with salt and pepper, and for my preference, could be served at a hotter temperature. I really do recommend eating here, just don't set the bar to a "specialty" level (as I did when first visiting) and you won't be disappointed.

“3 visits in 7 days”
Reviewed 8 September 2012

This is one of those places that we like to visit when we go out of town, except it's in our town!

Grab a burger, or soup or try what I call the brunch sandwich an Egg Salad BLT!

I've been here multiply times before, but that last 3 included dinner with friends before a concert,

a gathering of friends outside on the patio, and then a board meeting lunch in their Tiger room.

Each visit was very good.

“FIRST IMPRESSIONS GO ALONG WAY”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

The first time we were there, was for a political campaign kick-off. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant and it's facilities. we returned a couple of days later for supper, again impressions are everything. The food was great, the salad bar was very impressive, and the atmosphere (even though there is a bar area) was family oriented. Since it was supper time, the welcome absense of loud music made the visit worth while.
