We've just returned home from a 4600 mi trip. We traveled by car from Haubstadt, Indiana, to Sedona, AZ, the Grand Canyon, then on to Las Vegas and back. We've eaten at many restaurants that were reviewed on Trip Advisor. When we got back home we had nothing in the fridge, so headed to one of our favorite restaurants. After eating a delicious meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans and salad, it hit me that the food here is better than any we had on our trip (for this type of food) and way cheaper (under $8)! They have delicious homemade soups, sandwiches and plate lunches five days a week. I can't imagine why Denny's is rated as #2 above the Carriage Inn and the Log Inn (another great local restaurant). There is NO comparison! I'm not surprised that Haub's is #1, but their prices are much higher! If you are in the area, I highly recommend Carriage Inn!
