We booked two nights at this location. We were going to spend both days at Holiday World and we didn't have a choice, all of the other places were booked solid. The motel is very old, it looks like it was built in the 1960's. The grounds were clean.

Upon entering the room we noticed it has been updated a lot. Granite countertops, flat screen T.V and modern furniture. The sheets and were pure white with absolutely no stains. The room itself was clean but that doesn't hide the fact that it is very old.

The refrigerator doesn't work at all, we always travel with a case of our favorite bottled water so we count on the refrigerator in any hotel/ resort to work, I tried everything but it was a no go. Our younger daughter has to have fresh strawberries everyday so I had brought some with us with the refrigerator in mind. We had to throw them out obviously. We drank room temp water when we got back at night which isn't too much of a big deal but if a hotel is going to advertise refrigerators in their rooms, they should at least be in working condition.

The toilet was a major issue! It had absolutely NO pressure, the water only went down because of gravity. After flushing 3-4 times each time anyone went to the bathroom you'd think the hotel would fix this issue because they are wasting more water this way, i'm hoping this isn't an issue in every room. The bathroom is very small (as expected) but the low ceiling made it worse. I know it's a old hotel and it's not easy to fix a low ceiling so we got over it but a claustrophobic person probably couldn't stay in there with the door shut. Houeskeeping needs to make sure the toilet paper is stocked as well.

The A/C worked great, it was loud but we don't sleep in a quiet room at home either, we always have our white noise playing on our phone all night so it bother us one bit.

The bed/mattress was comfortable, not too soft and not too firm.

The pool area was very clean (we didn't swim there). Check in and check out was a breeze!
There is a Mexican restaurant on property but we didn't eat there, apparently they will bring your food the room if you don't want to eat in the restaurant. We stopped at Wendy's on the way back from Holiday World, there is DQ in the same area as Wendy's as well.

We weren't expecting much from this property because it is a "Quality" Inn.

Room Tip: Check the toilet (flush) before settling in! This place the the lowest flowing toilets I've ever...

Thank you for bringing to our attention the issues concerning the refrigerator and toilet. I have passed along your concerns to our maintenance dept so that they may put in a new fridge and fix the toilet. Maybe on your next trip to Holiday World you will stay with us and get a chance to enjoy our pool and Mexican Restaurant. We hope to see you soon.

This was a random stay for me and my children, just to "get away". It was a nice enough hotel; clean, friendly staff, easy to find.
The girls enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the breakfast was very nice, much more variety than we expected actually. My only complaint is the breakfast items were not replenished often enough.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor. It was rather loud but there are a LOT of children at this hotel. Not c...

The front desk staff was great. The tiny lobby was clean and presentable. However, the building overall looks a bit rundown from the outside. But, I wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal either.

The room overall was clean and the beds were comfortable. Plenty to watch on TV if you need to with Direct TV.

Now the not so good things....

Toilet flushing. We had to flush 2 or 3 times even for a #1 to go down and by flush I mean holding the handle down.

Cleaning staff didn't restock the toilet paper. We had about a 1/2 roll and a 1/4 roll when we checked in. My family used about 1/2 of that the 1st day (family of 4). So, we probably had a 1/4 or 1/3 of a roll left. We assumed we'd get a new roll on the empty of the 2 holders...NOPE! Luckily the 2nd night and checkout morning we didn't need to use that much toilet paper. Otherwise we'd have had to call the front-desk, no biggie, but we shouldn't have been put in that position either.

Refrigerator, never got cold. It was turned down as we expected when we checked in. Wife turned the setting up to 7, put in some bottles of water and we left. Upon returning 8 or 9 hours later we were expecting nice cold bottles of water, but room temperature water instead!

Typical quality and selections for a free breakfast, but the dining area is not big enough. Yes, you can take food back to the room, but that's assuming all persons go and carry their own plate. My toddler and I ate the little we could grab, but we ended up just eating at Holiday World. Keep in mind you should try and eat early. The hotel is EST while Holiday World is CST thus leaving people the ability to sleep in before going to the park. We went at 9am Friday morning (served till 10am) and forget about it...

WIFI seemingly connected strong. But, when I tried to do anything the connection became weaker and was slow to do anything. Used my 3G instead.

Overall it was just a place to crash and it very much served that purpose.

We have passed along your concerns to our Maintenance and Housekeeping departments and have let the breakfast staff know that when our dining room becomes to full they can open up the doors to the other side to provide more room. We appreciate your comments so that we may make improvements to better serve our customers.

We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Holiday World.

We've stayed here for about the last eight years for our Holiday World trip. They continue to make improvements to the hotel, making it a great value for the money. The onsite Mexican restaurant is also very good. If you can overlook the fact that it is an old hotel, it is the best place to stay in the area. The outdoor pool is a great amenity. One of the front desk employees recognized us from our stay over a year ago, welcoming us back. That is great service.

This is probably the fifth or sixth time we have stayed here. This time was different due to a property remodel. We got a great deal on this hotel using the ideas in the book "In Pursuit of a Deal 5 star travel on a 2 star budget". We got the room for a lot less than the posted rate.
This was the first time I have used the pool and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had a deep end. The pool ranged from 3ft deep to 10ft deep. We did not try the breakfast as we woke up too late to go and see it.
The rooms are clean and the staff is great just like the other times we have been there.
The hotel is a short drive to holiday world with only three turns to find.

Each staff member that we encountered were friendly and helpful. The rooms have been recently updated and the bed was extremely comfortable. I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but they appeared to be clean and well maintained. I wouldn't call the breakfast "deluxe hot", but it had make-your-own-waffles and hot sausage and eggs with the standard continental breakfast items. Overall, for the price compared to other area lodging, this was a great place to spend a couple nights.

Room Tip: If you are staying here during a visit to Holiday World, keep in mind that this hotel is in Eastern...

It is the Quality Inn, so you're not going to find the Ritz in the south of Indiana, but for the location (right on the main road between Holiday World and the town of Jasper), and the relative cleanliness of the rooms (comfortable beds, nothing ominous like bugs or anything) it is a fairly nice place to stay. Minor downside is the dirtiness of the hot tub. On a side note, they'll remind you that you are in Eastern time - the time zones in the area are quite confusing, as you will transition to Central Time simply by crossing I-64 south of the town.
