Owner description: The largest children's museum in the world just got even bigger with the addition of a new 7.5-acre outdoor health and fitness area that encourages activity through multiple sports. The new space, called Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience includes basketball, football, hockey, soccer, pedal car racing (drag strip and oval track), golf, baseball, and tennis. The indoor portion of the new area includes the National Art Museum of Sport along with the World of Sport and History of Hoops. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis itself is made up of 500,000 square feet with exhibits and activities that are fun and interesting for the entire family as they explore the physical and natural sciences, history, world cultures and the arts through exciting interactive exhibits on five floors. Families will discover some of the most rare dinosaur fossils in the world and see what it's like to live and work in space. There's also a theater with children's plays and live entertainment.

I love museums and when you come across a favorite you keep going back no matter what! The Children's Museum always has a special exhibit and when they do you learn a lot! Just because it says CHILDREN's don't let it fool you.....adults will have a great time here and come out with some extra knowledge. They have a King Tut exhibit and a China exhibit which I enjoyed and saw many different objects that another museum did not have. It is a fun place and I look forward to coming over and over - with or without children! So make sure you have this museum on your list to visit - you will not be disappointed

We have always loved the Children's Museum but the addition of the new sports section is one of our favorites yet. We had seen the construction of the outside activities so knew what to expect with those and our expectations were far exceeded. The golf section was our favorite and we're not even golfers :) but the basketball and football were close seconds. What we didn't expect were all the indoor sports activities. Also wonderful and great to know that we will have all those options once the cooler weather hits. One final positive is the amount of female sports and athletes in the new section. Love that the females were so well represented! My oldest child (nearly 15) feels he is now getting a little too old for the museum but he still had a great time.

I took my mother to the Children's Museum when they had the Egyptian exhibit a few years ago and she just loved it. It was so well put together and informative and people of all ages were there enjoying it. The museum is very clean and people there are informative and willing to assist in any way. Definitely a place to visit.
