Loved the Matisse exhibit. The standard collection is impressive and includes Renoir, Monet, Picasso, Rembrandt and much more.

We went as a family of 7, including three generations to the Matisse exhibit on loan from Baltimore Museum of Art. The curation is outstanding and we all enjoyed the audio narrative that is available on Ipods with earphones that the museum offers. The works are numbered and its easy to input the number for the description of the work. Some of the narratives also offered other choices to compare and contrast the works. We also enjoyed the European masterpieces and religious works. And that was only one floor! It's been years since my last visit, and boy, was I impressed. The Moma or the Art Institute has nothing on the IMOA. This little museum has grown into a full-grown art house! P.S. I highly suggest you become a member. The free parking and summer movie series alone will more than cover the membership!

First, dont pay for parking. There are plenty of free parking spaces inside the museum. Everything else, except a few exhibits, are also free so enjoy! And dont forget to leave a monetary contribuition so it remains free as it should be!!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the IMA. Being Indianapolis, I wasn't expecting a lot of work from famous artists, but I was mistaken. Monet, Van Gogh, Mattisse, and more. Huge collections from a diverse range of artists. The museum grounds are another exhibit entirely. All for just the price of parking. Well worth it!
