We walked over from our hotel because we wanted to see the Ansel Adams exhibit and did not know anything about the rest of the offerings of this most remarkable museum.

First, the Adams collection is phenomenal. The man was a visual genius for sure, but to have so many photographs in one place gives one a deeper appreciation for the subject matter, the American landscape.

Wandering through the rest of the museum we realized that the Eiteljorg collection focuses on the taming of the West. The outstanding group of Remington's astounds. The number of paintings and sculptures of those who settled in the west and those who were the first inhabitants there is an amazing walk through early American history.

There is an entree fee which is minimal, a cafe, a children's area for hands on art. We were on a time-limited visited so we saw but did not visit these areas.

On July 5th, we visited this museum and enjoyed a great visit. My wife and I really liked the Ansel Adams exhibit, as well as the rest of the museum. I will highly recommend this exhibit to anyone who has even the slightest interest in Ansel Adams. My children enjoyed sitting in the downstairs stagecoach exhibit.

On July 4th, admission to the Eiteljorg was free - what a GREAT way to start our first visit. Went straight to the Adams exhibit & was NOT disappointed - WOW, what a beautiful exhibit. The textures & use of light in his photographs were amazing. SO happy not to have missed this exhibit. Would HIGHLY recommend it. Only there through 8/3 so hurry.

The best Ansel Adams show I have ever seen. Get there before it ends. Otherwise it is like The Field Museum for kids, lots of head dress and teepees very well done. It is the special show that make it for me.
