Excellent permanent collection of art related to the American West. Material from both the Native American period and the settlement and development of the area as part of the western colonization and expansion of modern nations are well represented. Be sure to check their website for dates of the excellent visiting exhibits. If you are in the area for the Christmas holidays, the train exhibit is a don't miss item.

Excellent cafe with outside seating over looking the canal and the parks. Very good food and reasonable prices bring downtown workers for their lunch.

We happened upon the Eiteljorg by chance as we were in town for a Colts game and happen to be staying in a hotel across the street. The exhibits were very impressive and well laid out. The sculpture work was amazing - a great display of history and culture.

We went to see the special exhibit of Ansel Adams work. Worth it! The exhibits of Native American art? Went on and on and on. Sculpture, oil paintings, watercolors, bead work, leather work. Wish we had gone earlier so we were not distracted by hunger pangs!

Love this Museum, I saw the Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keefe shows here as well as the Jingle Rails at Christmas. The Ansel Adams is a must see if you are into photography in any way. The guy was magical, in black and white no less! His photographs just speak to you and they are mesmerizing to see.
The other exhibits I've seen at he Eiteljorg have been 1st class as well. The subject matter is interesting to me, but maybe a bit boring for little ones.
They have some interesting outdoor art as well, and have done a wonderful job adding over the years.
The cafe at the Museum is very good, my sister and I had salads, that were fresh and well done, and the cookie afterward was yummy too.
If you are interested in this type of subject, I think you will find it top notch. If you aren't it might be a bit tedious.
