“Nice change of pace”

We went here at Christmas to see something different. It is nice to see a tropical location in the middle of winter. A great value. A nice place for amateur photographers, lots of photo ops.

“Only if you are in the neighborhood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

The Sunken Gardens and Conservatory are clean and they have teenage guards on duty to keep out the skateboarders etc.

It is nice but very small and could disappoint if you drive more than 20 minutes for a visit. I would really only recommend this if you are on the southside of Indy for something else.

They are very strict about pictures so only take your DSLR if you like taking photos of flowers. If you are caught taking pics of your kids they will suggest you pay an expensive photographer fee or put the camera in your car.

“A True Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013 via mobile

Garfield park has beautiful gardens and flowing fountains. A gorgeous place to walk or just sit and overlook the beauty of this place. There is a conservatory filled with fish ponds and a water fall. They have a chocolate tree with lots of pods on it and a huge bird of paradise. It is a real tropical get away for $1.00 a person! The people working there are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to be helpful. This is a real hidden gem in Indianapolis!!!

I love to hear the Indianapolis Symphony perform here in the summer. The sunken garden is beautiful.
