“After dinner drinks and Blues”

Slippery Noodle Inn
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We stopped in for a drink and to listen to some blues! 5.00 cover at the door and 8:30 band on stage. We headed to the back as this bar is sort of a maze with several different room/ areas. We were in the back had a good seat to hear the band. We had a great bartender who was funny and friendly. Drinks were reasonable 8.00 per margarita with Padron (the well was Jose C.) not my favorite. We didn't stay long but wanted to say we had experienced this Indy legend. I think this would be a fun place to spend more time and enjoy some drink in Indy for anyone the crowd was mixed from 21 on up to much older 60+ so it wasn't uncomfortable. Everyone was super nice (but that seemed to be everywhere in Indy). I will make sure to stop for a cold drink again if I am ever back.

Very disappointed in this place. The people were very nice, but the food and service was awful. The atmosphere was so worn out and gross. The only decent thing about this place was the beer selection (why it got 2 stars instead of one).

What a neat experience. The weekend we went up was ncaa tournament weekend so it was really hard to get into this joint for the night life but we went back during the day they had an extensive menu but we did not eat. Drinks were responsibly priced; the place was lively though for being early afternoon. Souvenior prices were steep but what else did you expect from such a niche. Cannot wait to go back and be able to enjoy a band. Sucks that they have a cover charge on Friday and Saturday but I understand they have to pay for the entertainment.

We visited Indiana's oldest bar on a Friday night at 10:00 for a drink after dinner. We waited a few minutes for seats and ended up sharing a table with two nice younger guys. We enjoyed the band and the company. The guys at our table told us the bigger stage was in a room down the hall, and the band there was even better. Two bands, one $5 cover - good deal!

We went here on a Saturday night. They had 2 blues bands playing. The cover was $5. The music was good, people friendly, plenty of seats and the drinks were inexpensive. Looking forward to going back to it the next time I am in Indy.
