Stayed here for a night on Valentines Day. Very cool and modern hotel. The room was huge and immaculately clean. Only minor issue is that the room was a little cold...the thermostat was cranked and it didn't seem to get too warm.

The location is OK, just a short walk to the main part of downtown. This hotel would be excellent for any event at the Fieldhouse.

The lobby areas are very cool with a ton of interesting multimedia artwork.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the stadium or Lily. Some rooms look into the parking garage.

This hotel has great art, positioned just right. The modern look and feel is sleek and calming It's just a short walk to the Bankers Life Field House. The food chocies at the resturant could be expanded. The shrimp tacos were just so so.

The Alexander is a top rate hotel. on all levels. it combines local art in its decor which is a delighter and the experience is consistent from there. The property is beautiful, the rooms relax you, th staff is on their A game, the restuarant food and drinks are fantastic. It is close to local amenities. I have stayed there multiple times and always leave satisfied with my decision.

My husband treated me to a stay at your hotel for our Anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent. The rooms were very clean. Tyler made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed his tour of the art that you have in your hotel and he was extremely knowledgable of every item. We also enjoyed Plat 99. We enjoyed everything about the hotel. We will stay again in the future.

On a night in August, 2013 my husband and I were staying at the Alexander Hotel. We were woken early in the morning - sometime between 3:30-4, by noxious fumes. The fumes were so intense that we couldn't return to sleep, and we both had headaches.

When I went downstairs around 4:30am, the overnight desk clerk was at a loss for the source of the fumes, but thought they might be from a "mat that occasionally burned over a vent on the roof". Unable to breathe well in the room, let alone sleep, we returned downstairs to wait out the fumes in the lobby at around 5am. When she saw us there, the desk clerk very helpfully found a way to move us to another room on another floor, away from the fumes.

Later, the desk clerk explained that according to the building engineer, the fumes may have been due to friction in the elevator system - our room was next to the elevators.

In over 40 years of international travel, from huts shared with families and their baby livestock on the plains of the Masai, to business lodging in Japan, from hostels in Spain to barns in Iceland, and countless road trips across the US from Kimpton suites to rundown motels in Gallup and Palm Desert, I have only once had a similar situation where I was forced to move for the night: when a swarm of Army ants attacked my tent on safari on the african savannah.

The only other time I've had to change lodging due to danger or discomfort was August, 2013 at The Alexander Hotel.

The representatives of the hotel never explained the source of the fumes, or further acknowledged the problem. Frankly, I would have felt more generous toward the hotel if they had discounted the room, as is customary when a hotel provides an underwhelming, if not actually dangerous, experience.

While the art is certainly charming, and we chose to book with the Alexander because the overall design presented such an appealing facade, the role of a hotel, first and foremost, is to provide a safe, comfortable night's rest. The Alexander failed, and responded in an unaccountable manner.
