From the art work to the staff, I felt everything was top notch. You get a boutique style and feel with this hotel with all of the larger hotel amenities. The food and staff were amazing!! The welcome feeling, great decor and staff at the lounge made it very easy to return there each night for dinner or drinks!

We booked through Hotwire and got a decent deal. The hotel has a fresh and creative feel to it, with various art installations and trendy design elements. The room was very comfortable, with an oversized walk-in shower in the bathroom. Service at the front desk was very friendly. Parking at $20 a day seemed overly pricey.

Brezzzz,

Thank you so much for staying with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and walk in showers in our rooms. In regards to the parking, we are competitive with the rest of the downtown hotels. Our self-parking rates at $20 are actually cheaper than most other hotels in our area, but I do understand that if you are not expecting this fee, it may seem quite pricey. We certainly appreciate your feedback and would be happy to welcome you back to The Alexander.

My wife and I stayed for almost 9 months in the extended stay section of Alexander. For us it was a very comfortable, enjoyable stay with friendly and cooperative staff at the guest services and wonderful people in the Market Place where we would go down for breakfast most of the time. It certainly is a place we would willingly go back if we happen to be in that area.

Feisal B.,

We were so happy to have you with us for that extended time. 9 months went by really fast and we were sad to see you and your wife leave. We do hope that you come back and see us in the future, maybe just for a weekend getaway! Thank you for your kind words, and we hope you are doing well.

My family stayed here for the weekend of July 10-13 for the 2014 International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. This Hotel was outstanding in its accommodations and its service. We were blown away by the rooms, the atmosphere and the service.

Thank you very much for a very enjoyable stay. If we are back in Indy again we most definitely will stay here again.

Thank you! Thank you!

We had a snafu with our booking through hotels.com. Hotels.com gave us misinformation about the tub (they do not have tubs) and parking price and they didn't send our reservation to the hotel so we had to straighten that out when we arrived. We were tired and the staff was super friendly in response to the fact we had no reservation in their system. We loved the art in the hotel and the room was very nice. I wouldn't choose this hotel if you don't want to walk; the elevator is on one end so there are long hallways. The parking is easy. There is a bar on site which we did not use. We looked at the breakfast buffet but it did not seem worth the price of $17.95 per person so we did not eat there.

Room Tip: Try to get a room close to elevator if you don't want to walk. Desk staff is very accommodating...

1812 HitchingPost,

Thank you so much for your great review and acknowledgement of our staff. I am glad to hear that we were able to make what could have been a difficult situation, a smooth and easy process for you. We do have rooms that are close to the elevators, so please feel free to contact me and I can get that preference added to your account for any future visits.

Large, open, light filled, airy spaces at the lobby and amenity levels with floating (almost) stairs, crisp contemporary (think mid-century) furniture, with designer light fixtures and fine art throughout. Between the big convention hotels and stuffy old ones. Like someone opened a window an fresh air came in. We enjoyed this hotel, we went to every floor to check out the art work in each elevator lobby. The traditionally spooky double loaded corridors (think The Shining or I always do) was made inviting with pilasters and accent lighting. The room was European with card in electrical, and the same crisp furnishings and light fixtures that were in the lobby, even a little art work at the service area.
TIP: You will park in the public garage north of the hotel most likely - if so, park on the 3rd floor of the garage which is level with the connector into the 2nd level of the hotel lobby and front desk.

Room Tip: The north side of the hotel is adjacent to a parking garage, and unless you like looking at your car...

HelloJoeOne,

What a review! Thank you so much for your kind words and compliments about the design and ambiance of the hotel. We are curated by the Indianapolis Museum of Art so those great colorful lights are actually pieces of art themselves! I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and we do hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Stayed at the Alexander recently for a weekend conference. Wow! Wow! Wow! Modern art everywhere. Trendy hip hotel. The room was very nice, great lighting. Bathroom was big; shower had lots of pressure. The conference services were amazing; the nutrition hub was fully stocked with everything you could imagine! Location was great, walking distance to many downtown attractions. Would totally stay here again and again!
