Tours start on the hour. There is a beautiful and informative garden that is not to be missed. Medical and nonmedical members of our party both loved it. A lot of interesting history. Tour takes a little over an hour. Kids might be bored and there are some stairs.

Our business took our entire department on a tour of the Medical Museum and the gardens. It was so educational and well worth the visit. The gardens are maintained by Master Gardners and volunteers, every plant is labeled for it's medical use. The tour of the museum was great, the history, the building is the orginal medical teaching facility built in 1896, most of the original furnishings, books, pictures, instruments and wealth of knowledge. Tour guide was very knowlegable. I would recommend this tour.

I chose to visit this museum on a weekend trip to Indianapolis simply based seeing its listing here on TripAdvisor. I don't work at all in the medical field, but it sounded interesting. The museum is small, but packed with great historic objects, all housed in an authentic building. Our tour guide was a volunteer who worked as a forensic scientist--he was great! I'd definitely recommend visiting this place, especially if you want something different from your typical museums.

We took our 19 year old grandson (a pre-med college student), he was fascinated! The docent was very polite and answered his many questions. To see the actual artifacts in the museum made it very interesting. Well worth the small admission fee!

This museum offers great information on our medical past. It has guided tours that show you the actual classrooms used by the medical university and their early study tools. Very interesting for anyone in the medical field!
