Beautiful rooms with modern decor and above average room additions (full fridge, dishwasher etc) Comfortable beds with huge loft style rooms. Exceptional customer service...

However if you are a light sleeper be weary of the fact that you are downtown and right next to a night club open until 3am in the morning. The bass resonates through the rooms if you are so unfortunate to be on the side next to the club. We were there during the Indy GP races and mistook the noise as part of nightly festivities...after three nights of little sleep and a complaint to the night manager we were moved to a better location, still some noise but tolerable.

There is no room service but the central location as well as breakfast/light supper provided make up for that.

Internet is available in rooms/ wireless only in the lobby.

I would be happy to stay there again if I was guaranteed one of the interior rooms to eliminate any sleeping issues due to noise.

I've stayed in a number of Homewood Suites before, so came into thsi hotel thinking it would be more of the same: a nice hotel with nie amenities. I was completely surpirsed by how impressive this hotel was. The hotel is in a renovated building and they have done an excellent job incorporating the older features of the buidling into a modern hotel. From the tin ceilings in the lobby, to the expansive rooms (with ceilings that are nearly 14 feet high!) to the exposed beams and modern amenities, this hotel is a real treat. The staff likewise was very warm and the service was great. Couple this with lots of entertainment options in the area and it's hard to imagine a better value in the city. This will be my hotel of choice any time I need to go to Indy from now on.

I stay at the Homewood Suites Downtown Indy quite a bit for business and what a wonderful hotel! It is right in the middle of downtown - within walking distance to many restaurants, shops (mall is right across the street), bars, monuments, and more. The hotel is a refurbished building in the old wholesale district. They kept a lot of the old beams and bricks and used them throughout the rooms and hallways. It's beautiful! The rooms have cathedral ceilings. They are all suites (ask for a one bedroom corner suite - those on the first floor in the back are really nice) with kitchens, living areas, table/chairs, full bath and bedroom. Flat screen tv's in the living area and bedroom. If that's not enough - they offer dinner and beverages from 5:00 to 7:00 every weeknight and breakfast every day. The staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to help you. If there is a problem (as there is at any hotel), just talk to a manager when they're in and they will resolve it for you. This hotel has a couple of loud bars nearby, so don't get a room in the front on Thursday through Saturday nights if the noise will bother you. It is downtown, so you have to expect some noise. Of all of the hotels I've stayed in on my business travels, this one is definitely the best!

Our family (me, wife, 2 preschoolers, and a 12-year-old) stayed at the Homewood for 2 nights on a road-trip vacation in July. All of us, including the preschoolers, were wowed by the classy suite and lobby area. It was pretty much everything we look for in a good hotel: nice decor, very friendly and helpful staff, exceptionally clean, and a great location -- all for about $150/night.

Now for some details:
The hotel is pretty new, which meant the decor was very nice: Cherry-finish cabinets in the kitchen&bath, dark quartz countertops, stainless appliances, very nice BR furniture. It was all very clean, which is important to us. My one complaint about the room is that it was a 1BR Suite, but the BR and LR were only separated by a short hallway past the bath. No door=no "private time". The lobby and common areas were well-decorated and clean, and the pool room was pretty neat, with an arched roof. The pool itself was clean and didn't burn your nose with chlorine smell, but I thought it was a little too warm -- it still felt warm even after you'd been in for a few minutes.

The manager's reception was pretty good the one night we ate there -- BBQ pork & chicken, potatoes, green beans, cans of beer or Sam Adams on tap. The kids and I ate well and skipped an expensive dinner downtown. Breakfast was a little disappointing, but only because the breakfast at the Chicago Homewood was extraordinarily good. The Indy breakfast was still better than most.

The location is very good, being a couple of blocks from Circle Center Mall and Lucas Oil Stadium. We were even able to walk to the zoo, which saved on parking, but if it had been any hotter I'd have probably payed for the parking. Also, it's located on the same block as several bars; once the kids were ready for bed my wife and I were able to go across the street to the Claddaugh Irish bar for some time alone.

The young man at the front desk when we checked in was not friendly at all and looked at the clock and then seemed to reluctantly look to see if our room was ready. It was two and check-in is listed at four, but most hotels will let you check in a little early. And being in downtown Indy we were really wanting to just park our car and do a little shopping. He said our room was not available and was not very helpful in explaining parking, etc. Fortunately a great lady from the back came running forward and told him he could switch us with another room and we could check in right away. He might have been new. But he did not seem happy at all with our being there at two. The room was gorgeous. The beds are amazing. The suite is huge with a full kitchen, a living area with a flat screen tv. This is a building renovated from two old warehouses and still has much of the charm from the old building with huge ceilings.
We were going to a concert to see Neil Diamond at Conseco and this hotel was just a very short walk to Conseco. It is also a very short walk to the downtown Center City Mall. There are many restaurants near the hotel but also many bars. There are homeless people around this area often. But you feel very safe inside the hotel.
They have an amazing evening reception during the week. This is really a full meal with salad, and entree, a vegetable, hot cookies, etc. They serve wine and beer with this or lemonade. Victor was amazing. He brought cookies to us right from the oven. We had sweet-n-sour chicken that night. Some nights they even have beef wellington. They also have a very nice hot breakfast in the morning. Victor was so nice and truly seemed to love his job.
Parking is either valet or self-park at the Union Station parking garage just about a block from the hotel. It is not included with the room rate. If you self park it is 18.00. I think the valet service is 22.00.
This location was perfect for our concert. And the staff, except for the first young man were all so great. The valets, housekeeping, etc, were all very, very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. They also have a nice heated indoor pool.
The hotel was opened in 2006.

I loved this hotel. I have stayed with Homewood Suites before and expected it to be nice but I was blown away with how nice this place was. The rooms are huge. When they say high ceilings they mean 14'-15' tall ceiling. I stayed in the 2 queen bed suite and it was very spacious. The beds were great and I enjoyed the free dinner and breakfast. It is definately a nice touch. I look forward to staying there once again.
