My wife and I stayed at the Boone Docks for a weekend in November. The location is great if you're looking to spend your time in Broad Ripple - it's only a mile away, so definitely walkable in nice weather. It's also very close to the Monon Trail if you're into cycling or jogging. I'd love to go back in the summer or fall when the weather is more agreeable - they also have a nice deck overlooking the river that would be wonderful for breakfast in the summertime.
The B&B is actually the walk-out basement of a very nice Tudor-style home just off the river. You have your own key and your own entrance, so you don't have to worry about disturbing the nice couple that runs the B&B. The bedroom is very large and contains a queen sized bed, several sitting areas, and a small TV with cable. There's one large closet for your clothes, and another smaller closet that contains extra towels and a small fridge with complimentary bottled water and soda. Next to the TV are many brochures and maps of Indianapolis area attractions - a nice touch!
The private bathroom is also pretty spacious, with a stall shower (no tub) and a toilet. It is kept clean and the shower pressure was strong. As another reviewer mentioned, the water has a slight sulfur odor, but it wasn't really a big deal. My wife's parents have the same quality in their water and it has never bothered me.
Lynne, our host, was very pleasant and cooked us a delicious breakfast each morning. One thing to note - they do have a large dog named Bear. He is very friendly and mild mannered, but keep this in mind if you are allergic.
I believe we paid something like $92/night, after taxes, and I really felt that was a bargain. We slept very well both nights, and we got a high quality breakfast each morning. As you'd expect, parking was free. If you're looking to spend your time downtown, this B&B might not make as much sense, as it's a 20 minute drive, but it makes a great base if you're going to explore the many restaurants and pubs of Broad Ripple. We had a great time.
I have photos of the interior that I will post soon.
