“Decent restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

Not bad, although not a destination restaurant. On beautiful days, when Kingfish or Rocky's have 40 minute waits, you can usually get in here immediately. Food was fine. Miso was flavorful, sushi was good, although people's tastes vary enormously on that. My yakisoba was fine, my son liked his chicken katsu. Good service, food came out very quickly. If you need a place to eat in Jeff and don't want to wait, I recommend it. We walked across the Clark bridge from Louisville because it was a nice day, and were happy with our experience.

“The chefs will vary, but always tasty.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2013

We live fairly close and for a birthday or celebration, Kobe usually ends up being our pick. There is just something fun about sitting around the grill watching your food be prepared with flair. We've been several times over the years, but are some things I've noticed at Kobe in Jeffersonville, the sushi is always great, the service is always good, the food always tasty. What varies is the grill chef, some are great performers with charm, flair, and skill, some, are not. We had one the other night that mentioned that he was "always working while everyone else was having fun" he wasn't much fun for us, maybe he was tired or maybe bored with himself, not sure what it was but he cooked the food and it tasted good. The sauces were new this time a different flavor than before, I wondered if he used the "wrong" ones or "new" ones?
We'll go back, but perhaps a weekend night might be more flair, we'll be looking for a good chef and maybe excuse ourselves if it is him again.
