“Neat Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2012

Thisi is a neat little musuem located on the river in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The yard looks like a graveyard for steamship pieces, but it's cool to see them so close up. The information inside is great if you're interested in the steamboat era.

“If you are into Steamboats or historic mansions, it is a winner.”

I have been there several times for events. I like big historic homes and I love steamboats so it is a good time for me. It is a small museum so I recomend going during an event.

“Do You Love Riverboats?--see this Louisville-area museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2011

Just a hop, skip and jump across the Ohio River from Louisville is where riverboat building in the Kentuckiana area began. At the Howard Steamboat Museum & Mansion you'll see a riverboat baron's fabulous home chock full of scale model riverboats and original furnishings. Helpful guides are on hand to lead you through the mansion's rooms and answer your questions. Photography is allowed. A modest entry fee makes this a very reasonable attraction for a group. Easy to find and within 5 minutes of other riverfront overlooks & good restaurants. Go late in the day and then visit a local eatery or watering hole for beautiful nighttime views of downtown Louisville.
