Stayed in room 6 and was woken at 6am by water tank in the roof as water filling it. Worse still at 6.30am the power shower in the room next to mine started and it sounded like a jet engine, so wide awake at 6.30, not good. Mentioned it to manager at breakfast, he said room 8 was the most noisy?.?. It must be really bad.

Have not been to this wonderful pub in some years as moved away and always drove past on the way into Oxford. Not anymore, a small diversion into a lovely friendly oasis. The beer was excellent, the food excellent, the staff very good even though the young waitress was a little hazy over the menu and what type of coffee they could serve, but hey she was charming.

Will be returning again very soon.

Best Rib Eye I've had for years and the service was fantastic and all washed down with a good pint of ale. Well done.

We had actually booked the pub next door but arrived to find 'Sorry kitchen closed due to floods'. As we had all travelled quite a few miles from different parts of the country (and New Zealand) for a family reunion we decided to look for another pub and found the Crown and Horns. They had a pipe coming from the front door with water gushing out of it but it was 'Service as Usual'. We were told it was a limited menu due to the fact that all the kitchen appliances weren't working. If that was LIMITED I would like to try the complete menu. We were greeted and made welcome by charming bar and waiting staff and were served quickly and the food was absolutely delicious. As the coffee machine was not working we had to have instant coffee - and this was reflected in the price charged. As we left they apologised for the flood?!?! It must be a great pub under normal circumstances!!!

We dined here for a car club christmas dinner and the food was outstanding. Usually when dining in a large group (there were around 25 of us), you'd expect the food to be a bit mass produced and the service rushed and clumsy but here it was none of these things.

The food was amazing, service very good and considering they had the restaurant to look after as well as our private party, it was all done with friendly professionalism, a real treat.

We stayed over in the rooms off the courtyard which were every well appointed, comfortable and quite luxurious. Breakfast was superb as was the service again.

All in all we will look for any excuse to visit again, thanks very much for a very enjoyable stay

(they even rang me up after we'd left to tell me that I'd left my phone charger in the room and would keep it for me to collect when I was passing)
