Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lafayette East

This stay was four nights and we have stayed here in the past with no significant problems. Their internet service is unstable and it requires multiple sign-ins each day. You will need to switch among HI Express 1, 2 and 3 to accomplish any task. You will also need to have your key cards reactivated each day. We travel a month or two each year and we don't usually have these problems.

PROBLEM with this stay: Our room had not been cleaned when we returned after our first night. We called Colin at the front desk and he said that he would report the problem and send someone up. We waited two hours and then went down to the desk to see what happened. It became clear that Colin hadn't told anyone (or, if he did, they ignored him). Tammie eventually showed up with her fast food and said that she was head of housekeeping. She was quite aggressive and essentially accused us of lying about whether we had left a do not disturb sign on the door. She eventually said that maybe 'kids' had done it. We asked whether 'kids' had also removed the sign because it wasn't there when we returned to our room at 3:30 pm. We also asked how 'kids' could have had access to our room to put the sign on the BACK of our door, which is where we placed it when we left the hotel that morning and where it was still hanging when we returned in the afternoon.

We asked to speak with Shannon, who was listed as the manager on duty. First we were told that she wasn't there -- then we were told that she was out of town -- and then Tammie said that SHE was the manager on duty! This was such an unpleasant and unnecessary experience that we will never stay at this HI Express again. We'll go back to the Hilton brand when we are in that area.

We will stay at other HI Express hotels. The brand is ubiquitous and there's a cool one in Amarillo with TVs in the bathrooms and 'free' wine, beer and snacks in the evening.

Room Tip: Take a photo of your room door each morning when you leave, in case you have to prove to Tammie that...

Stopped in mid-April for a one night stay before a Purdue campus visit. Hotel was clean and looked like a relatively new facility. Room was large. Bathroom & shower was great. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was very good. Didn't check out the meeting room or exercise facilities. Front desk check-in and check-out was quick. Overall, seemed like a great property.

The hotel is the loudest i have ever stayed at. It is not well built. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every footstep in the room above you. I could clearly hear the person in the next room talking. My TV would actually shake from the vibration in the room above me.

This would be my last choice of hotel unless I stay on the top floor. But that has a con too. The hotel has 3 floors and the elevator is super slow.

Room Tip: Stay on top floor only!!!!!!!!!

We have been traveling to west lafayette for the past year and have always stayed at Hilton garden inn or the hotel on campus. We were extremely surprised by how nice the holiday inn express is. It is just down the road from the hilton and still plenty close to Purdue. The lobby is gorgeous, people are very friendly and the room was large and comfortable. There is an Italian restaurant in the hotel and a bar. The work out room is clean and new and there is a laundry room available. Tons nicer than the hilton, whose beds are rock hard. It is a longer walk to Purdue, but you can do the short drive and park across from the union club hotel in the parking garage. It isn't expensive to do so. Nice hotel.

We were using a nearby indoor waterpark and decided to stay in town. The Holiday Inn was great. Rooms were very clean. All rooms had a microwave and refrigerator. And the pool was so warm. The wife and kids were in the pool close to 4 hours. Also close to every restaurant you would ever need! Nice breakfast too. Variety of food so that everyone in the family could be satisfied.

Holiday Inn hotels seem to be the most consistent of all that I stay in. The bed was comfortable. Location convenient. The room was clean and well appointed. I don't tend to eat the cold breakfasts as I much prefer something a little more. Other than that, no complaints. All in all, this is good hotel to stay at.

rooms were very clean, front desk was very accommodating as far as putting all of us parents that traveled for a softball tournament together. I would stay here again. my only issue, if I had to pick one is, breakfast is only served until 9:30a. I feel it should be a little longer. Besides that, nothing was wrong.
