Madison Vineyards B&B
Ranked #5 of 7 Madison B&B and Inns

We stayed in one of the cottages while our friends were in the B&B. Beautiful establishment! The grounds and the facilities top notch. However, I cannot say the same about the staff. Steve and Sandy are odd folks, to say the least. Borderline rude at times. We were even told we were not welcome at the main house despite the fact that we were paying guests and our friends were staying there? My friends felt as though they were intruding anytime they were in the house and actually spent much of the weekend at our cottage. To top it off, the wine was mediocre. Try Lanthier. First winery I've ever been to where we all liked everything we tried. We have decided that we truly love Madison and will return but not to Madison Vineyards.

June 15, 2013: Looking out from our second floor room window across the sunny vineyard brought peace to my soul. Madison Vineyards B&B is a quiet retreat featuring 5-star accommodations in terms of house and room design, décor, and cleanliness. Our breakfast began with fresh fruit salad and cheese strudel, followed by a vegetable frittata and fresh-baked bread stuffed with sausage and cheese. Scrumptious! Nearby Madison, IN offers plenty of antebellum history, including numerous c.1850 well-preserved homes, such as the Lanier Mansion and its architect's home, The Francis Costigan House. This area was a "station" for the Underground Railroad and you can trace it by car if you like. I'd recommend getting your lunch "to go" from the Clifty Falls Inn and sitting on the Inn's patio to eat it. From there, you'll see the Ohio river far below the towering cliffs of Kentucky. It's not hard to imagine how Madison thrived on its river trade around 1850 from this vantage point. We had a reasonably-priced gourmet dinner at Bistro One on Main St. The cucumber soup was "to die for" as was the chicken breast topped with pomegranate/watermelon salsa. Next time, we want to visit the Heritage Center-Jefferson Co. Historical Society for a highly recommended general overview of this area. The Schroeder Saddletree Factory museum also ranked highly. Since my husband is a chef, we visited The Galena Garlic Company. We tasted and purchased various culinary enhancements. Check Madison's Special Events before you go. This was a fun weekend!

Room Tip: All the rooms in the house are lovely. Common areas are spacious and comfortable as well.

We stayed in August 2012 for our 1st anniversary. Very nice staff, good breakfast, comfortable rooms, wonderful views of the vineyards. The wines weren't as sweet as we like. I would recommend for a weekend getaway.

We went here for our 42nd anniversary and it was amazing. B&B's are frequently converted old houses with lots of charm but lacking in ammenities. This home was designed as a B&B and buit a few years ago. The room was huge with a TV area, a small reading nook and the main bedrook area. Breakfast was definitly 5 stars both mornings. The room was filled with special touches included in the romance package I had requested. The host had even gone out of her was to find daisies for the bouquet (that had been my wife's wedding flowers). We stopped by and sampled several wines before choosing the complimentary bottle included in the package. This is a working winery so be prepared for some activity early in the morning but it was reasonable and the evening was very quiet. The only complaint was that there was no window covering on the bathroom. While the second floor indow looked out on the vinyards with no neighbors in sight, it was a little disconcerting when you stepped out of the shower. Hostess was very friendly and accomadating and the family dog could not have been better behaved.

Room Tip: The cottage is cheaper but doesn't include the breakfast which is one of the high points of the...

I would recommend a stay at the Madison Vineyard Estate Bed & Breakfast to anyone! My husband and I just spent our first anniversary weekend here and had a wonderful and memorable experience. The owners, Steve & Sandy, are very kind, helpful, and comfortable to be around. The people who worked at the vineyard were also very kind and welcoming. Sandy is an excellent cook and a wonderful host. The home is beautiful and has breathtaking views of the vineyard they planted themselves. We were offered a tasting of each of their wines, a tour of the vineyard, and we purchased the extra wine tasting and appetizers. It was a fun experience and we enjoyed conversation with the owners and the other staff members. We were 100% satisfied with our stay. Book your weekend now!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are bigger than others, but we stayed in the smallest one and were completely sati...

My husband and I have stayed here multiple times in the last two years and have loved every day of our stay. We have family in Madison and often visit for 5-7 days at a time. We always stay in the Beaujolais cottage which is like a home away from home. Sandy is a wonderful hostess and treats us like family. She is also a great cook and leaves us wonderful pastries for breakfast.
The cottage is immaculate and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We love the quiet serenity of being out in the vineyard and especially enjoy the screened porch for relaxing. Even our grandchildren like staying with us on the pull out sofa as a special treat. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
