First time trying the buffet (always had family style in the past). Great selection, and still get the great basics that made you want to go in the first place. I would highly recommend the buffet.

Arrived on a Tuesday at 6PM, had to wait 15 minutes for a table wich is ok if restaurant is full but it was not, far from. Decided to go for the buffé. Hlf was empty since there was not enough guests. The other half ok. Overcooked beef, broasted chicken that aktually was fried and dry, excellent mashed potatoes and brown beans.

I dont expect so much more for 14 dollars but just not a good feeling. Felt more like a factory. Greasy spoons, carpet should have been changed 2004. Florecent blueish lights in the ceiling. Had to remind the waitress three times for a glass of mil that was extra. No desserts on the buffé.

Will not come back but think this might be a great place if you need to feed six buslisds in 30 min.

You get the feeling that you are the kettle hoarded around.

Nice stores too look around in while waiting. Maybe thats why it took 15 min.

Amazing place which also has its own shop and bakery . The restaurant was overwhelmingly large opted for the buffet dinner at $12.99 which was supposedly home cooking. The chicken was listed as broasted but was in fact fried. There was indeed plenty of hot food and a salad bar but it was just another buffet. Nothing special or worth returning for. When places become so large the personal touch is often lost.

We always make sure to find a reason to get to Das Essenhaus. A family favorite since we were kids. Now at 30 I still make sure to stop. The food is so great.

We did some shopping, attended a banquet, and attended a car show. Great food. We went to the bakery later in the evening, and they were sold out of most everything. This was ok, it showed us that they provide fresh items daily.
