The drive up the the hills towards the tiny town of Sipi is amazing already. Once our group of six arrived, we were greeted by two employees. I cannot stress enough how breathtaking the views are and how well maintained the campground is. We were all on a budget and it fit our needs perfectly.
The facilities themselves are what one would expect of a place that is accommodating of a small budget. Not the cleanest nor most modern, but I could have cared less. To me camping is also somewhat about roughing it.
We all had dinner for about 10.000 UGX per person, which was served in candlelight and all prepared from local food. Quite amazing and for the equivalent of 4 USD very hard to beat.
In the morning, we rose early and had a small breakfast that hit the spot before embarking on a guided tour (25.000 UGX) of the three waterfalls. It had rained the night before, but nevertheless, the hike was amazing, leading us through small enclaves, banana plantations, over and under rocks and ultimately to all three falls. (Note: The third and main waterfall which is visible from the campsite is also the most treacherous to get to. Free standing ladder that is quite steep and in addition to large gaps in between the stairs, goes on for a good 300ft. Aka, bring solid shoes). It is completely worth it.
Overall, fantastic place if on a budget. Very friendly staff, accommodating in every way. Have never had a better view waking up.
