Ideal for a one night sleepover between CT & Bloemfontein. Pieter and Henko are welcoming and very friendly. Eat breakfast at the Travalia Padstal the next morning before setting off on your journey. If you forgot to buy someone a gift, this is the place! Too much to mention- a great selection of goods; wine, preserves and the most beautiful hand made goods from handbags to serving trays etc. My husband won't forgive me if I don't mention their boerewors. We bought about 20 packs - unfortunately that was all we could fit into our little traveling refrigerator.

Good atmosphere and great service. After a long drive this is the best place to kick back and relax with a good nights sleep.
Rooms are very nice and clean.
Big shower for a bigger person like myself.
There is a nice place to eat as well when you drive in.
With the gas station right accross the street you can start the day very early and go grab a quick refill and a coffee while you wait at Wimpy. Very good location for travelers

This is literally an oasis in the Karoo. The hospitality is most welcome and you can choose to do your own cooking on the fire or enjoy the most delicious home style cooking with a choice of lamb dishes that are mouth watering. We stopped on our return journey to enjoy home baked Lamb pies at their Farm shoppe - well worth the visit!

What a wonderful oasis in the middle of the Karoo! Really, after long hours spent in our car, arriving here has been pleasant! Took a walk around the grounds, saw dorper sheep grazing in the karoo bossies. Walk down to the farm stall and back, had a lovely painted sky around us as the sunset. After relaxing, we sat down to a hearty meal- karoolam dishes! Tasty and well prepared. And the the starry sky awaited us - what a beautiful and peaceful way to end the day! I really liked their attention to detail and will always stop here - hooked!!

We stopped at Travalia on our way back from St Helena Bay to Durban. The chalets were clean and comfortable and very roomy. We had dinner there and, although there was not a great selection, the lamb casserole was really delicious. Travalia is set back from the main road along a very short dirt road and is surrounded by 'bushland' which is quiet and peaceful. There is a Farm Stall nearby which is worth a visit as it sells an impressive range of 'goodies'.
