Ramada Resort Seven Mile Beach
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 27 January 2014

I spent the three nights of the long weekend this month at the Wyndham Seven Mile Beach Resort. It is extremely comfortable, the units are high quality, spacious, well laid out and conducive to a relaxing break. There is a heated swimming pool and spa, sauna, tennis courts, BBQs, bike hire, fishing rod hire and games room on site, great for kids. The resort lay-out is such that if you are without kids, you can still have privacy without noise.

It is a short walk across the road to the beach, a very long and attractive beach.

The Resort is served by Beaches Restaurant, another good experience.

The location of the Resort is close to the airport, a 10 minute drive. You do need a car and can pick up a rental at the airport. It is a comfortable drive into Hobart to visit the Salamanca Market, pick up a ferry to the extraordinary Museum of Modern and Old Art (MONA), visit Mt Wellington or the many attractions of Hobart and its surrounds. It is a short trip to the historic town of Richmond or further to Port Arthur.

We used the Resort as both a base and retreat and enjoyed our stay immensely. We will visit again.

Room Tip: Room service is not available at the Resort. Definitely hire or have a car. There is a shuttle to...

We've been to this resort twice when visiting Tasmania. We stayed in 2-bedrooms apartment. It is very spacious and modern with everything you need for a comfortable stay. As it is a cottage style we also had a courtyard. We didn't use it much because our visit was in winter and it was very cold. But we like the resort's set up. It has native trees and bushes all around and at night we saw many wallabies. The Seven Mile Beach just across the street from the resort. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant and enjoyed the famous Bruny Island oysters. They are delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful if you need any advice abou the resort or the area.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment in December 2013. The layout of the resort is good & the apartment spacious with everything provided. The games room does not have much to offer & with the gym having adequate equipment. The pool & detox chambers seemed to be ok.

We did note that there were lots marks in the paint work, dirty finger print marks over the walls, doors & light switches & a dinner plate sized mold patch on the ceiling of the second bedroom of the unit we were in. The lack of in room internet was annoying as was the poor choice of foxtel channels on offer. A small selection of DVD's is available for hire at reception.

As we were on the airport side of the resort the noise from the jets taking off & landing was a little obtrusive, but you get used to it & in reality there are not that many planes coming & going. You will need a car if you stay here. Would I stay here again? No, I think you could find accommodation of equal standard in a better location without the price tag.

My Mum and I stayed there last week and were impressed. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe and loved the availability of creature comforts away from home. We never even got a chance to use the heated pool and detox boxes (saunas) but they did seem clean and easy to make use of. The house was clean and there was a comprehensive range of kitchen applicances - blender (which my mum wished she knew because she brought one from home), toaster, kettle, microwave, dishwasher, cooktop and oven. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I can't fault our stay.

Room Tip: Splurge and get a 3 bedroom - they looked fantastic and have fireplaces. If you like a balcony with...

We stayed for 4 night and a friend joined us while we were there, we had a two bedroom two story unit, very nicely appointed and comfortable, beautiful surroundings with friendly natives (Paddemelons and Native Hens) and staff. Would love to have stayed longer, and would most definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the fact that you are a 20 min drive from Hobart.

Recently stayed at Wyndham resort in a 2 bedroom villa. The bush setting and access to beach are wonderful. However we found if you like an early start to your day like us,a walk is only option as resort facilities are inaccessible till 8am. We also tried to make use of taxi service (after resort staff informed me they were reliable)to take us to Barilla Bay oyster farm restaurant for dinner, only to find after nearly an hour wait that the taxi driver didn't consider it a large enough fair and didn't turn up. Resort staff had to rebook and lie about our destination before a taxi picked us up. Thank goodness the restaurant was absolutely 6 star and made what started out a disappointing night into an unforgettable dinning experience.

We stayed in the 3bedroom grand apartment. This was very well designed for a family with full kitchen, laundry and 3 toilets. Great resort facilities; BBQ area, pool, spa, tennis courts, soccer oval. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We will be back.

Room Tip: Go the 3bedroom
