Owner description: Originally the factory for Coppes Kitchen Cabinets that once produced the famous “Hoosier Cabinet,” the 100,000 s.f. renovated factory now houses a variety of small businesses perfect for shopping for locally made, handcrafted and freshly baked items. Get a glimpse of the fascinating history into the Coppes Kitchens, once ordered by Frank Sinatra and President John F. Kennedy, while shopping this rustic and rambling brick structure. Watch and taste creative ice-cream concoctions come to life using liquid nitrogen, taste and buy made-from-scratch baked goods, cheeses, and bulk foods or look for a good book in the Christian Book Store. The Coppes offers several unique shops which we enjoyed strolling on our visit. There is a bakery, a religious store, furniture, and more to browse through. On the second floor is a collection of historical furniture and appliances which was fun to see, too.

I'm glad you enjoyed the history of Coppes Commons and the old cabinets that were made here. We hope to have a more complete museum someday in the future. Come again!

I went there this past summer, it needs some help...The Rocket Ice Cream was good, the little grocery store had very good sandwiches too...The idea is there, just needs more vendors...Keep at it...

This is a collection of shops and a museum in an old factory building where Hoosier Cupboards were made. The upstairs museum was full of the furniture that was made in the factory in the early 1900's. (My wife and I sneaked in. I'm not sure we were supposed to go up there). The Amish store was very interesting with different foods that you will not find anywhere else. They have huge selections of jellies, jams, and salsas (Barf-in-a-Jar anyone?) There are shops and stores for everyone. A must see (and taste) is the Rocket Science Ice Cream Store. They make your ice cream by mixing it in a bowl and then flash-freezing it by shooting it with liquid nitrogen.

Lots of shopping and the prices are very reasonable. Much better prices than at Amish Acres. Grocery is really neat and has a wide assortment of goods. Rocket Science Ice Cream you need to see-they make ice cream custom for you.
