The Pine room is in a strip mall, don't let that stop you. They have a nice menu, vegetarian friendly. They also serve beer and wine, no hard liquor. I had the falafel sandwich, well prepared on a nice bun with fresh vegetables and fries. My wife had the fish and chips, well prepared, crispy and the fish was moist. One server who was also the bar tender, it was not crowded so he covered it well. Reasonably priced. good beer selection.

The atmosphere is good but the service was lacking. There appeared to be only one waiter, and he was also tending bar. We were told that they ran out of french fries yesterday but we were given a choice of salad instead. The wait was so long that I began to wonder if the waiter was also the cook. The waiter was friendly but I felt he was overwhelmed by having to do it all.

This Restaurant was recommended by a “Local” - the day before the Wine Festival so Alcohol should not have influenced his judgment. So after a Fun Filled Day at the Wine Festival we decided to try this Fantastic Place. We arrived to the place that was about 10% full at 5:45pm. We were asked by the Server/Hostess/Manager/Wine Festival Participant - BRIGHT GREEN BRACELET- purchased by drinkers if we had a Reservation - we were thinking we would have to wait and said no we do not have a Reservation. She replied “Come this Way.”

We sat down in A Bar/Tavern Quaint Place thinking they would have Bar Food but to our ASTONISHMENT There were FANCY Words on that Menu like Brioche, Bolognese (Which was not a bologna sandwich), Compound Butter and even Risotto. After reviewing the fancy words for 20 Minutes waiting for the Server/Hostess/you know - we ordered our Drinks. And Waited…. read more menu….. and waited…. began to wonder if John Cojones was in the Back and waited. She brought us our drinks. They had Coke products but one in our group thought it was Pepsi because we all actually had Flat Coke. We proceeded to inform the Server / well you know that the Coke is flat and ask for Water and were informed that Low and Behold the CO2 Machine is having problems and she had to run it twice (but still decided to bring us the flat cokes). Are ya feeling me.

After much amusement and thinking this is a Joke it only gets better. She brings us water (after a substantial period of time) but to our further amusement it is THE LEANING TOWER OF GLASSES. Which we were unsure if they came from a table, a dishwasher or outside. Then we wondered if She (Server / Oh well you know) thought there might be water in them. But we found out quickly that she did not think there was Water in them because she kindly brought us a Pitcher of Ice Water and put it on the Table for us to serve ourselves as we do with family (unlike the others at other tables). When asked of the You Know Her how long will it take to get our Food - we were informed that it would be 25 - 35 minutes “And be Well Worth The Wait.” B. S. I mean P. S. It was not worth the wait …..

So after much delight, delirium, delusional thoughts, and hunger pains we received 3 out of the 7 orders. The 4 of us that did not receive our food were salivating. I did forget to mention as did our Server that we do not have any Napkins or Utensils. After further waiting we received 2 more of the dishes. The last 2 of us (one almost starving - literally and one that was beginning to look at the other customers in a Different Light) finally got our meals. Minus the extra sauces we asked for, the Bacon that was to come on the Burger, The Mayo that was asked for oh and lets not forget the Silverware. In case you do not know where this place is it is located next to a Family Dollar that sells Silverware - just saying. Our Server/Hostess/Manager/Wine Drinker brought us 3 jumbled messes of napkins and silverware and said I will bring the rest. Again Disappeared and the wait continues. Are you getting the Theme of this Fantastic Place. So after much waiting and nibbling 1 of our party decides to get the rest of our Silverware and finds out that they are out of Forks - yes I said Forks. We did get knives - that we did not use violently.
Our Server well you know, brought over Extra Extra Extra Extra Ketchup (when really only need a few) then dropped one of the Extras on the floor between 2 of our party - while saying “Oh S%#$^# It didn’t get on anyone” While she goes and gets a rag everyone proceeds to see the Ketchup on their Purse, Their Shoes, A Drop Here a Drop There.

Of course, At this point John Cajones is never coming out and we have decided to raise one of the 3 White Napkins provided.

If you have the desire and the days and the guts feel free to try this place just remember 2 things:
Don’t Go the day of the Wine Festival

The Pine Room Tavern is a warm, attractive space with friendly service and a menu featuring local products. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

My husband had the Parsnip Risotto, while I had the Basil Lemon Marinated Chicken Sandwich - both of these were good. We each had salads as well - the homemade blueberry dressing is especially good.

The live acoustic music was good too.

My wife and I were in Nashville overnight; we chose the Pine Room Tavern for dinner - the main reason: it has been around since 1949. We arrived at 6:45.

We ordered one of their specialties as an appetizer: “Rustic Flatbread” (topped with a pesto sauce, spinach, grilled chicken pieces and fresh mozzarella). The set the flatbread on our table at 7:15. We wondered why it took so long but that mystery was quickly solved - they were waiting for it to almost reach room temperature. (They weren’t about to risk a patron getting burnt from their food!) Actually it was tasty - in fact, I venture to guess that had it been served hot, it would have been awesome!

We were both in a burger mood. Joan ordered the Caprese burger (topped with fresh mozzarella, a tomato/onion chutney, balsamic reduction and a basil leaf on a brioche bun. Mine was a little more usual - the Pine Room burger - a grilled burger on a bun. Both came with steak fries. You know how the time spent anticipating something good can enhance the enjoyment? Well, the fine folks at the Pine Room know how to bring that idea home - they just don’t serve you any time soon. Our burgers made their appearance just over an hour after we arrived.

The sandwiches and fries were okay. And I admit that my opinion may be swayed by the seemingly inordinate amount of time it took to get our food. There were about a half-dozen other folks there beside us - which took up less than ten percent of the available seating. Oh well, they can’t all be winners. We got back to our hotel a little after 8:30.
