Couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend. This place is very quaint and conveniently located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia with plenty to see and do in the area. Actually right on the beach with the sound of the surf to lull you to sleep at night. Tho it was still too cold when we were there to swim. Room we had was very cozy and nicely decorated. Tho we didn't eat at the restaurant we understood that the food there is quite something. There is a number of great seafood restaurants to choose from within a very short distance. Early in the evening there is even a "Cookie Lady" going room to room with fresh baked gingerbread, peanut butter or chocolate chip cookies for the guests. Nice touch to end the day.

Room Tip: In my opinion any room is a great room or villa

I just love this place! The villas are wonderful, beautifully furnished and decorated. The food at the restaurant is delicious! Everybody is very friendly... The homemade cookies before bedtime a nice touch... And let's not forget the main attraction the beautiful beach! I think it is the most beautiful beach north of Florida!

We had the good luck of spending a night here, as we had a friend visiting from out of town and figured it would be nice to get out of Halifax. The only room that was available was the 3 bedroom villa, a little steep at $300, but after some initial hesitation went ahead and booked it. It was a brilliant move! The villa is actually a small seperate house right next to the main hotel. It is very cosy with lovely antique looking hardwood floors, rustic furnishings and even has a wood burning stove and ample firewood. The beds were very comfortable. With 3 seperate bedrooms, you can sleep up to 6 people. The kitchen has dishes, cooking utensils, pots, cutlery for your use. Bathroom was clean and modern with nice toiletries. With the windows open, you could hear the ocean waves all night... just an unforgettable experience!

The Hotel itself is situated on a beautiful mile long beach, with lovely sand. Lots of seaweed on one end but keep walking and then no more. Just lots of beautiful very clean lovely sand and very clear (extremely cold) water! Fantastic place to spend a weekend... just wish we had more than one day. The front desk lady was very helpful. She told us about the history of the resort, also had great suggestions for sight seeing in the area. The resturant was amazing! Very tasty local specialities such as lobster, Digby scallops, haddock. Everything was fresh and delicious. They also had very good drink menu..the Strawberry Daquiri and Pina Colada were outstanding. Servers were great, particularly the young man who served us, he maintained his good humor even after I spilled most of my drink all over the table and surrounding area.

Such a nice experience and a beautiful area to visit. Highly recommend!

Have eaten here many, many times and the food is always great. The views and sounds of the surf are awesome as is the smell of the salt air. Can get cool in the evening with the breeze off the water but that's a minor issue. The villas are large and well appointed but a tad pricey for an overnight stay. But being seasonal, I guess they need to make it work when the weathers good. Will continue to eat here. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at the Quarterdeck. We sat in the (enclosed) patio area, literally sitting over the ocean. The staff was great, efficient, friendly and informative. The home made biscuits and my husbands choice of surf and turf were excellent. My steak was unfortunately rather tough and gristly, but our waitress noticed this and immediately offered to replace it. The blueberry crisp for dessert was soooo good.
