“Poor Service, Difficult People, Bad Experience given the money spent”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

Recently stayed at Lee Royale & was quite disappointed with the services and the people given that the money being charged for the stay

-Requested room with bathtub, was promised on phone without any mention of extra charges but asked to pay extra upon checking in
-Checked in. Compressor in the room caught fire. Room had to be changed
-Ordered tomato soup, bread crumbs were stale
- Logged into internet 11 PM. Internet did not work, was fixed on afternoon of next day
- The television in the room was on the left of the bed and the love seat. made it impossible to watch TV
-The bed creaked like hell
- Advertised spa was non operational & reception did not seem to care about
- Requested for hour late checkout and even though we had checked in late evening first day, hotel wanted to charge extra
- Front desk was non-responsive and rude

I had to choose between Vinstar Serviced Apartments and this hotel (both are next to each other) for a recent business trip and contrary to all the favorable reviews that Vinstar had received, i decided to go with Le Royale Residency as it claimed to have a swimming pool. However the swimming pool is just a large bath tub and two / three arm strokes will get you from one end to another. The fitness center is large, but not even a single treadmill is in a perfect working condition, Infact whenever i went to the fitness center, i found people wearing slippers and normal clothes sitting in a corner and joking around and these people definitely did not look like they were hotel guests. While i have no complaints about the room and anything to do with it, the room service and restaurant were atrocious, Out of 4 days, on two occasions, i had to wait for more than an hour to get my meal delivered. On 2 out of 4 days, the breakfast was not even laid out at 7:45 am (the official time for breakfast starts at 7am). On the other 2 days, half of the trays were empty and not stocked, I would never recommend anyone stay in this hotel.

I stayed in this hotel last weekend with my family including 5 year old kid. Had some work in hinjewadi so planned for this place as it came up in the list of 4 star-5 star properties. Wish to spend some time on this review as there is a great scope for improvement provided the management wishes to.

Rooms
Positives: large with kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave. Had one which was pool facing
Negatives : it's confusing if the place has been designed as a service apt, studio room or a hotel? Linen decent. Bathroom ok, toiletries so so.
The room balcony and the corridor are not atall child friendly, the parapet extending from the floor slab with a short glass railing too inviting for kids to explore.

Pool: I think we were the only guests who used pool. The staff was more than happy to help, the jacuzzi and pool is no doubt good. Only the shower space was missing as if the pool is a place only to have a restaurant besides it. The changing room had a shower in it but was too dirty to get in.

Food: in room dining good service, very reasonable and good food. Breakfast poor spread and avoidable even though complimentary. The biscuits coming with ordered tea are good if baked inhouse as they appear to be, the potential exists.
Didn't take lunch or dinner.
Room service is not available between 10 pm to 8 am so no morning tea

Gym: for some weird reason the gym for hotel guests is closed on Sunday. As if there is a holiday for exercising.

Housekeeping: the hotel for obvious economic reasons is understaffed. Although room make up is requested it's not attempted or even bothered to look at. Of course I didn't follow up with a call? The areas in corridor, restaurant, etc show a lack of proper maintanence. The games areas have all broken assets.

Staff: nice guys all around the place but just not trained enough and obviously paid much below the normal 4 stars standards. They want to help and be courteous but can't be owing to constrains in skills, knowledge and training.

Then why did I rate it average ?

The place has a friendly atmosphere and the staff although not savvy are humble and good at heart, when I asked the front office girl whether they are understaffed she reverted stating whether I had a discomfort during my stay and offered an apology which might not be in the best of English language but was from the right place.

It was a single night stay so i could bear it well, but will not recommend for a longer stay.

It looks as if the promoters went ahead with investment and then developed cold feet on operations. They are content with regular occupancies from nearby IT companies but will gradually loose business if not upgraded.....

Food of this place is pathetic. I ate Manchurian and it is very salty. Curries are not good in taste and the overall food was unenjoyable. The ambiance is very good with mini swimming pool. Kids were playing in the pool. Everything else was good. Staff was good.

I was in Pune for 2 days to organize a Workshop for my client. Good thing about this hotel is the pick-up and drop facility from the Hotel to your work location & return. Nice amenities, Good Bedding, ambience, food, pool side bar, room services, neat and clean, transportation. Breakfast was ok-ok (more variety/options needs to be added). Pool-side bar closes at 10:30pm. I recommend this hotel for all the people travelling for business around Hinjewadi Pune.

Room Tip: Select the pool view rooms.

I stayed here for about a week while working at an office in the Phase 3 area of Hinjewadi. Had a decent time/stay - considering I used to be out for most of the day and only came back for a rest/food.
As a matter of perspective, it did a good job of rejuvenating me daily for a morning full of work.
Despite the fact that this hotel also attracts a whole lot of people from different strata of the society (due to the cheap rates they offer per room, many are rented out to overnighters / convention goers in the vicinity), food/cleanliness/security remains good.

SERVICE:
The reception staff is quite decent. Interacted with quite a few of them over the days I spent there. All of them could communicate well and were decently behaved. Ready to help with minor details - a newspaper, a bottle of water, directions to places etc.
Food is decent. Dont know which restaurant / cook prepares the room service delivery - but this is much better than what you get in the buffets (both morning and evening - I guess its preparing for one vs. many)
Houskeeping does a very good job. Though I'd have assumed they'd not clean a room unless the "Clean me" was highlighted. They come in and clean up anyways.
The hotel provides bottled water complimentary every day.

ROOM:
The room is medium sized. Has enough space for a large double bed, a single bed, a sofa set, a center table and wardrobes.
Wooden flooring (random squeaks while you walk) and a TV with a variety of Indian+International channels. The room has full length windows opening onto a small balcony with two chairs. The curtains are a sore sight.
Bed is very comfortable. Bouncy even. Bed linen is clean. The reading lamps above the bed head rests are at a weird location and angle.
An AC does decent cooling.
A business table and chair is provided with a table lamp.
Funnily though, the door doesnt have a peep hole. Becomes a challenge to look out at who's ringing for you.
Bathrooms are clean. Has a shower area with a curtain demarcating it from the toilet. Soaps and shampoos provided are very basic quality. Running hot water from a heater (solar?) available. The towels are clean but rough to touch.
An extensible cloth line is provided in the same shower area.

LOCATION & AMENITIES:
Just beyond the Hinjewadi Phase I Infosys circle. (About 500m) on the road to Maan village. It has a neon lighted sign on the roof - if you are looking for the place in the dark. The access road is dug up right now - non tarred completely.
Ample parking space.
Since this hotel is INSIDE Hinjewadi - your travel to offices inside this area is comfortable. If you have to travel anywhere outside the Hinjewadi location, this is not the hotel for you.

Breakfast is served in the indoor restaurant as a buffet. The bigger crowd (if in a group) is served in the open air place. It gets pretty noisy in the mornings.
They have an open air pool with a small jacuzzi type pool near it. Open air restaurant and bar. Also a covered restaurant. A gym/discotheque on the top floor.

The hallways are carpeted - though the carpet has a lot of stains all over the place. It kinda gives it a shady look.

BEST LIKED:
The comfortable sleep I got every night. The food quality when ordered through room service.
LEAST LIKED:
The buffet food quality - just average. Access roads to the hotel. Noisy people that are stuffed into rooms as part of large groups.

All in all, if you are working / travelling within Hinjewadi, with a very restricted budget (~2000 per day), you CAN NOT find a better hotel than this. Very value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the higher floors. Good view and less noise.
