Home of Thunderbird - America’s only launched wing roller coaster, Holiday World celebrates Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July with roller coasters, family rides, a huge water park, live entertainment, games, attractions - and Santa Claus, himself! Splashin’ Safari, ranked one of the nation’s Top Water Parks by TripAdvisor and USA Today, includes the two longest water coasters in the world, numerous family water slides, two wave pools, plus water activities for children. Both parks have been voted the World's Cleanest for more than a dozen years by the readers of Amusement Today magazine. This place rocks! Clean, family friendly, free drinks and sunscreen. The rides are great, the water park is way better than any I've been to. The food is reasonable with healthy options available. There's just so much to do, the two day pass is a must.

Love, live this park. We come every other year. We came on a Monday. We waited literally no more than 15 minutes for any ride. We bought our tickets @ the candy castle for &38.95. A little discount. Any bit helps right? The three wooden coasters are so much fun. They are a rougher ride than the steel ones. So rider beware, they do whip you around a lot. The different lands, Christmas, thanksgiving, Halloween & 4th of July was so cute. Our favorite areas were thanksgiving &4th of July. Our favorite rides were the voyage, gobbler getaway ( which is inside & air conditioned) & the mayflower( a new ride, Viking ship). The staff was very concerned about safety. They checked each person thoroughly. Can't say enough about the cleanliness of this park. You don't find paper, trash anywhere. The free soft drinks are such a saver. Another earlier reviewer had complained about the free soft drinks. About the bad stuff in it. Revelation, don't drink it. Really? They do have lemonade, water & two flavors of Gatorade. Pepsi products. No complaints here.
We got a locker in splashin safari when we come into the park, so we don't carry our bags all day. They have the neatest wristbands that magically open your locker. You have the same one all day. It was $10 to rent.
The waterpark is awesome. The best one we've been to. The mammoth, wildebeest & wave pool is great. The boys rode all the slides they wanted to and then swam in the wave pool for 2 hours. The kiddie sections were great for little ones. Plenty of chairs. The food on this side was very good. We got the loaded steak fries were delicious. I am gluten free so they do have options. I wanted a GF pretzel which you can get @ jacks . But the downside was you had to wait 20 minutes. If you need GF print off the allergy list online on their website it tells you what & where you can get food. I ate in the pilgrim cafe. Roasted chicken breast, mashed potatoes & green beans with a corn muffin & didn't get sick. I am wheat free. Delicious & great alternative to burgers & fries. Next time we'll get the next day ticket and spend more time in the water park.

Tip: great photo opp as you come in with Santa & the year. And as you leave the park with holiday world entrance gates.
Get a blue raspberry soft serve waffle cone in the 4th of July section. Yummy!
See the diving show. You won't be sorry.

Let me just start by saying that Holiday World is my favorite amusement park in the US. The runners up would be Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Dollywood. We make an annual pilgrimage to ride The Voyage (get it?) each season from Florida. This year we came Memorial Day weekend.

As always we had a GREAT trip. Incredibly good time at the park!

But as rare as it is: there are a FEW issues that come up at Holiday World when we visit. Here they are...I thought some of you may be interested.

Holiday World Issues:
-Giraffica/Pilgrim's Plunge was removed without a press release or notice. When you build the largest water ride in the world. People come to your park expecting to ride it. When you remove it without notice it's frustrating.

-Mammoth consistently opens late. You'd think after a couple years they would have the kinks worked out with this ride.

-The Voyage has had 4 seats removed from each train. This may not seems like a big deal...but each train's capacity has went from 28 to 24. This is a big deal on busy Summer Saturdays.

-Wifi service is very inconsistent

That's literally the only negative things about the park. But trust me, this park is still light years beyond any other regional amusement park in the area in terms of guest satisfaction.

Due to poor maint and even poorer oversight the staff at the Legend Roller Coaster did not detect that it had in fact jumped the track and there were 20-30 passengers some of which were children stuck at the top of second highest loop for 20-30 minutes until other amusement goers alerted the management, they had no idea what was going on and was actually loading a second cars for it's run. Staff finally climbed the stairwell and escorted the terrified passengers down to the ground along small blocks of wood that the staff called stairs. Everyone made it down safely as far as I know. If this wasn't enough, staff had everyone write a "witness report" and sign it. They even had the minor children sign it without their parents present. Guess nobody ever told them that nothing a minor signs is binding in court....what douchebags. The passengers were given the option of a ticket for another day or their money refunded for the current day but they had to leave the park if they accepted the latter offer. Visit at your own peril. This happened on Sat June 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m...........Kevin Snell, pissed off Jackson, Mo parent

I have nothing bad to say about Holiday World and everything good to say. We had three families visiting and all things went well. One of us had the hamburger at the Cafe and was so impressed with it, we all ordered it for supper. And it was excellent. The people are so helpful and friendly. The park earned its award for being the cleanest. We spent one day and should have planned for two. We definitely will be going back. Good job guys!!
