Owner description: Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari are a family-owned theme park and water park combo located in Santa Claus, Indiana. Home of Thunderbird - America’s only launched wing roller coaster, Holiday World celebrates Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July with roller coasters, family rides, a huge water park, live entertainment, games, attractions - and Santa Claus, himself! Splashin’ Safari, ranked one of the nation’s Top Water Parks by TripAdvisor and USA Today, includes the two longest water coasters in the world, numerous family water slides, two wave pools, plus water activities for children. Both parks have been voted the World's Cleanest for more than a dozen years by the readers of Amusement Today magazine. In 2016, Guinness World Records certified Mammoth as the World's Longest Water Coaster and in 2013, TIME magazine named The Voyage the nation’s #1 wooden roller coaster. Live entertainment includes musical shows, a country band, high dive show, and Santa’s Storytime. Both parks offer guests free soft drinks, free parking, free inner tube usage, free sunscreen and free Wi-Fi. New for 2017! Firecracker is a classic Calypso ride, one of only a handful still in operation in North America.

“Fun in the sun except for a few showers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

I grew up going to Santa Claus Land/Holiday World, but I had not visited since I moved out of state 8 years ago. I was home for a family reunion. There was a total of 13 of us that went and included children from 2-16 and 7 adults.

The admissions price is quite reasonable (39.00 with a coupon). The parking parking, drinks (includes pepsi products, including pink lemonade and lipton tea and water), and sun screen are all free.

Lockers are $10 for small and $15 for large.

On the day we were there, they had to close some rides and water slides on and off due to storms. The first time, several of us road an inside ride, and by the time we finished, it was over.

The water park side is one of the best I've been to. The ride part is smaller but several rides like the Voyage and the Legend pack a punch.

Great place to take the family.

“Get a Cabana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Holiday World is great, It is not Disney. But the price is not Disney either. The park has top tier wooden roller coaster. The water park is a bonus but it also has top water slides such as the Mammoth and the Wildebeest. The price on food is reasonable. Free Pepsi. Holiday world continues to add new attractions such as the announcement later this month. They have build quality with each of their last additions hopefully this one will not disappoint.
The cabanas are great if you can get one. We were in number one which is kind of isolate so it was prefect for the kids taking a nap in the middle of the day to recharge their batteries. We had a place to store all of our stuff and free WiFi. I think next time we will try and get one closer to the Mammoth.
It is a 2 hour drive from my house. I would only wish they would have some more high quality hotels closer to the park.

“Best Family Vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

This was our 8th summer visiting Holiday World! The #1 reason that we keep returning is the service and friendliness of EVERY person who works at Holiday World. We LOVE the quality price for a day of fun, free drinks, sunscreen, and multiple shade trees while waiting for other to go on rides! We spent two days and our kids loved every minute! The new Wildebeastro has delicious, healthy food options which was a plus! No matter how old our kids get, we will continue to visit Holiday World for years to come!

“Very clean family park”

loved the cleanliness of the park, it was well maintained and had a friendly staff. Great idea for the sunscreen station and the free Pepsi products were a surprise. Lots to see and do. Much better than 6 Flags

“Great Park, Great Value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We spent 2 days here in June, a Thursday and Friday. Thursday was less crowded, but lines still moved quickly on Friday. There are free drink kiosks throughout the park where you can get Pepsi products, Gatorade, Lemonade and water anytime. Free coffee (regular and decaf) was offered at two of the dining areas. They also have free sunscreen stations.

This park is incredibly clean. Staff is constantly sweeping up and picking up. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful - seriously every single one.

If you have any food allergies, they are knowledgeable and helpful. I printed the allergen menu from the website and brought it to the park. When ordering, all I had to say was "I am ordering from the allergen menu" and a a supervisor was immediately brought over. They have a special form to fill out and the food is prepared fresh by the supervisor. You give them the specifics (gluten free, dairy free, etc.) which they note and they walk you through the menu. And there was no additional charge for the specialty foods!

You can do this park in 1 day (both the rides and water park). My suggestion is to buy the one day ticket online and see what you think towards the end of the day. If you want to come back, you can purchase a Next Day Ticket at Guest Relations for $27. We arrived at opening (9am). The rides started operating at 9:30 am. We rode Voyage twice and Gobbler Getaway and then headed towards the waterpark entrance where people were already starting to line up (or actually congregate). At 10:30 we entered the water park, got a locker (they have a great locker system that uses wristbands) and started on the water rides. We were able to do all of the big water rides (we did not do the wave pools), have lunch and go into the main park to continue riding the coasters and still left the park around 6:00pm. Day 2 was used for re-riding coasters and other dry rides. We stayed for the Friday night fireworks which were spectacular.

There is not a big choice hotel wise in the area, so be prepared to drive at least 20 minutes to the park. We stayed in Evansville (45 minutes away) and it was definitely worth the drive. Oh, and parking is free :)
