I loved this this hotel for the price, it was a great stay. the front desk staff was awesome, as were the rooms. I was able to bring all my little goodies and store them in my own personal fridge. i loved the onsite fitness center, and they even have a little grill area for guest use. if you are ever in town i reccommend this hotel is the little bargain hotel with all the ammenties of a five star hotel

I would avoid this hotel at all costs. While working in south bend for a few weeks, my employer had us stay at this hotel. Needless to say we all ended up getting bed bugs. I had to go to the doctor and get some cream that had to be applied over my whole body and left on over night. Not a pleasant experience, also embarrassing.

This is a nicely located, newer facility a short drive from Notre Dame's campus and a quick walk to Starbucks and other restaurants. The rooms are very clean and nicely fitted with a surprisingly comfortable bed, functional bathroom and kitchen. Bring your own pillows as the ones provided are strange and small. I would also bring along your own shampoo and conditioner as what is provided is a very small bottle of a combination of the two. The front office staff is very kind, helpful and efficient. The only problem with this facility is that the walls are very thin. Lucky for us, our neighbors were quiet, but it could be a problem. I would stay on the top floor to at least minimize the noise from above.

Hotel was clean enough. Had a salt-water pool. Dishes for two in the room. Wifi did not work well. Didn't get to use it at all. Bed was a little too firm for me but, I have a hard time sleeping in hotels anyway.

Every time someone moves down the hall or above us, there is a loud thump that echos. It's like the entire building is built from cardboard. And to add to the chaos, the cleaning woman is currently slamming the toilet seat and doors repeatedly in the rooms in our hall, which we can also hear clearly. There is zero sound-proofing here, so if you want to get any rest go somewhere else. Also, the person working at the desk when we checked in only keyed our room key for one day instead of three, so when we tried to get into the building with our hands full of bags on the second day, we were of course locked out. She also overcharged us by over $250 dollars, and WE had to produce our reservation letter to get a credit for the difference. When we pulled up to check in on the first evening, there were several groups of people sitting around in the parking lot drinking beer. Odd. Overall, many places we have stayed in South Bend that were better and quieter.

What can you expect when you go to South Bend and pay $100 a night? It was not luxury, but decent enough! Rooms were clean, kitchenette was working, and it appears the rooms were recently remodeled. The view leaves something to be desired, but the location was good. Steak and Shake, Starbucks, and a few other little strip malls were easily within walking distance.
For kids, the pool is not very big, but it is functionable.
Another bonus is they do allow pets.....with a reasonable payment.
If you are staying less than 4 days, you do not get linen service! That is extra. The key is just to ask for extra towels from the maid and just know your sheets are not getting changed.
In conclusion, just expect average at a very reasonable price. It seemed to be nicer than the 'comparable' hotels in SB, In. It is no Marriott.....but it is not Motel 6 either.
