Owner description: One of the best university art museums in the U.S., this museum at the University of Notre Dame features 18,000 pieces including a large religious collection and works representing the major periods in world art history.

This museum located at Notre Dame University has splendid Renaissance paintings,fine Baroque paintings,and superb French Romantic and Realistic paintings.My favorite paintings at this museum were:Taddeo Di Bartolo's"Saint Geminianus",Luini's "Saint Catherine of Alexandria",Francesco De Mura's"Bacchus and Ceres",Paolo Fiammingo's"Mountain Dwellers",Johannes Storck's"Port Scene",Boucher's"Offering of Rose",Corot's"Landscape at Limay",Gerome's"Socrates Seeking Alcibiades",Sickert's"Offices at the Morning Post",DeScott Evans'"Hatchet Trompe L'oeil",and Georgia O'Keefe's"Blue I".This museum has an intimate atmosphere with a staff that truly enjoys art.
